Lumiere Grand at Shaw Lido
Frequent moviegoers will already be familiar with Lumiere, Shaw Theatres’ premium cinema concept, where you pay a bit more to have fewer people kicking your seat and more personal space. Now, there’s a fresh upgrade in town – Lumiere Grand at Shaw Lido – and it’s made for those of us who take movie night seriously.
What is Lumiere Grand?

After giving out free movie tickets at its Jem outlet back in November 2025, Shaw Theatres is back this time with Lumiere Grand at its flagship Lido outlet. It’s the latest addition to the brand’s ongoing revamp, which started in May 2025.
And no, they didn’t just rename the hall and call it a day. The former 500-seater Lido Hall 1 now has 331 seats, which sounds like less, but actually means more space for everyone. This refreshed layout fits bigger, reclining seats, so you’re not packed in like sardines and can lean back and relax without accidentally elbowing a stranger.
What’s the difference between Lumiere Grand & Lumiere?

Both Lumiere and Lumiere Grand offer an atas movie experience, but they’re not exactly the same.
For starters, Lumiere halls are currently available at Shaw Theatres in Balestier, Jewel Changi Airport, and Paya Lebar Quarter, while Lumiere Grand is exclusive to Shaw Lido.
Lumiere halls come with leather recliner seats across the board, but Lumiere Grand switches things up by offering 2 types of seating – classic sofa-style seats and a recliner zone. We’ll cover more on the seats below.

Another big difference is in the armrests. At Lumiere halls, the armrests can be folded up to turn your seats into little love seats – ideal if you’re catching a movie with bae, and want to share snacks and personal space this Valentine’s Day.
Meanwhile, the armrests at Lumiere Grand are fixed. That’s because the hall layout features full rows of seats, instead of Lumiere’s usual 2-3-2 configuration.
What are the features of the Lumiere Grand hall?

OK, on paper, the differences might make Lumiere Grand pale in comparison, but the hall still comes with features that’ll make your movie session comfortable and relaxing.
The biggest draw is the hybrid seating concept – you’ll get to pick your seat based on your preference and budget. For instance, the classic sofa-style seats may be comfy enough for a short movie, but you’ll also have the option to top up for the recliner zone to sit through a 3-hour blockbuster.
If you go for the recliner seats, you’ll get access to USB charging ports and a turntable to place your popcorn and drinks.

Charge your phone, then recline your seat and relax.

Both seating types are also ergonomically designed, because walking out of the cinema with a sore back and numb butt isn’t cute.
On the tech side, the hall has also been upgraded with a 4K laser projector, which means sharper visuals, especially for action-packed films.
How much are the tickets?

While tickets for Lumiere Grand are on the steeper side compared to regular halls, each ticket comes with a $7 MovieBites credit, valid on the day of your screening. That means you can use it to offset your popcorn, drinks, or other snacks – making the slightly pricier ticket feel a lot more worth it.
Take note that you’ll have to head to the box office counter or self-service kiosks to print out your credit coupons.
