Air Force Day 2025
If you were floored by the stunning aerial displays put on by the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) at the recent National Day Parade, the upcoming Air Force Day 2025 is an event you’ll want to take note of. Read on to find out how you can redeem a free Defence Collective Singapore goodie bag while you’re at Air Force Day 2025 too.
What is Air Force Day 2025?
Air Force Day is an annual event that celebrates the RSAF’s anniversary – an all-day, family-friendly affair at the Singapore Air Force Museum that’s free for all to attend. This 1st September marks 57 years since the RSAF was founded in 1968 – an air force dedicated to defending Singapore, safeguarding our skies and keeping us protected from threats.
This year, the event will be held on 13th September.
What can I expect at Air Force Day 2025?
Meet Singapore’s first female fighter squadron commander

This year, Colonel Lee Mei Yi takes the stage to share about life in the air forces – as Singapore’s first female fighter squadron commander, nearly 20 years after Singapore saw our very first female fighter pilot take her wings.
It’s no secret that the military is a tough field, so COL Lee’s Theatrette Talks will be an inspirational and rare glimpse into the experiences she’s had. There are only 2 sessions at 11.30am and 2pm, with 48 seats each time.
Even if your little girls aren’t intending to follow her path in the air forces, COL Lee might just be that role model who proves that they can pursue their passions regardless of obstacles.
Dress up in RSAF uniforms

Make it a fun day out for the kids with a pit stop at the RSAF Uniform Station, where they can try on kid-sized Air Force uniforms and pretend to be military pilots for the day. Don’t forget to get your cameras ready to capture all the extra cute memories – who knows, they might just be inspired to make it a reality one day.
Fly a fighter jet through AR HoloLens

Take the pretending one step further with the AR HoloLens experience, presented by the RSAF. Try your hand at the actual training tools that new pilots practise on before they take to the skies, with augmented reality goggles, aircraft system overlays and a guided interactive procedure that’ll have you believing that you’re piloting a jet 10,000 feet off the ground.
Take part in aeroplane-themed challenges

For family fun and games, head to the Phygital Game Stations. As the name suggests, these see a blend of physical and digital games that everyone can participate in. Look forward to aviation-themed challenges for kids and families that will test your reflexes, knowledge and piloting skills.
Head to the museum’s L1 Outdoor Gallery and L2 Indoor Gallery to take part in these games, which will both entertain and educate participants on everything there is to know about the air force.
Snap pics with F-15SG fighter jets

After all that, it’s time to meet the real stars of the show – the fighter jets. At this year’s event, you’ll have your chance to get up close and personal with the F-15SG and C–130 Hercules transport aircraft on land, and snap as many photos as you like with them.
Fun fact: the F-15SG is one of the most advanced variants of the more commonly known F-15E Strike Eagle. If you can’t already guess from the SG in its name, the F-15SG was designed specifically for the RSAF.
Try out a flight simulator

Then, check out the flight simulators by the Singapore Youth Flying Club (SYFC) and Wings Academy, who run Singapore’s largest flight simulation centre. This, of course, won’t feature the same AR experience as the HoloLens, but it allows you to step into the shoes of a pilot nonetheless with their ultra-realistic simulators.
P.S.: If you didn’t know, the SYFC offers free flying training to Singaporean students in Junior College and polytechnic.
Photography & craft workshops

Round off your adventure with a Kids Craftwork session and an Engineering Basics: Wire Lock workshop, where children get to build their own aircraft-inspired crafts and learn how simple wire lock mechanisms work, just like the ones in real aeroplanes.
The biggies and adults can attend an exclusive photography workshop by Spotter’s Group instead, to learn the secrets behind aviation photography. This hands-on workshop will take you around the retired RSAF aircraft on display in the museum, with tips from the pros on how best to photograph them.

You’ll have all day to take part in these fun and interactive activities at the Singapore Air Force Museum – the event runs from 10am-5pm, so there’s no need to rush. While you’re there, head to the front desk and shout, “I love Air Force Museum!” to get your very own Defence Collective Singapore goodie bag, while stocks last.
