After we saw Thailand making a move to share food items and daily essentials through the Pantry of Sharing initiative at the beginning of the month, we now have something bigger — the Store of Sharing.

One local shop in Bangkok now offers free items to anyone in need amidst the COVID-19 pandemic every Friday.

On Fridays, we share

On 22nd May 2020, Facebook page JS100 Radio shared a story with a couple of heart-warming photos of Raan Saduak Pan (store of sharing), a store at Ekkamai that gives away free items to people in need.

Raan Saduak Pan is located at Park Lane Bangkok, only 5 minutes away from Ekkamai BTS. The store offers free food items, drinks, cooking essentials and more to people who have taken a hit during COVID-19.

Everyone can pick 5 items from a shelf for free every Friday from 11AM-1PM and 3-5PM (until 26th June 2020). During the break, the shop staff will sanitise the area to reduce any chances of the virus spreading.

For those who would like to join the campaign and help support those in need, you can also drop by the store and share some items at Park Lane Ekkamai, 18, Room A 106, Sukhumvit Soi 61, Khlong Tun Nua, Watthana, Bangkok 10110) from Sat-Thu (11AM-5PM).

We’re happy to see that Thais are helping each other amid this pandemic. As the lockdown will soon be lifted with many businesses resuming operations, we hope more people can get back on their feet and get their jobs back so everyone can live their lives as per normal real soon.
