Pfizer vaccines to be allocated to those in most need

According to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, the lot will be distributed to frontline healthcare workers and priority groups. He further assured that there will be no cut-in-the-line by VIPs.

The allocation will commence from next month following the plan detailed below:

  2. 645,000 doses to senior citizens, women over 12 weeks pregnant, and those with pre-existing conditions

  4. 5,000 doses to research
  5. 40,000 doses to be reserved for the fight against the spread of Covid-19 disease

Currently, the batch of 1.5 million is being stored in a vaccine depot at -70 degrees Celsius.

A hope to the end of rising Covid-19 cases

With 1.54 million doses of Pfizer now in the hands of Thais and a million more to come shortly into the future, we hope to see an end to the rapidly rising number of Covid-19 cases soon.

While we’re waiting for that to happen, let’s continue to do our part in curbing the spread by staying home and following hygiene protocols.
