TikToker welcomes vaccine brands on board a flight to Thailand
On 19th July 2021, TikToker, @mimi_cappucino, uploaded a skit where she acted as a flight attendant directing passengers – each one representing a different vaccine brand – to their respective seats on their journey to Thailand. Her video mentions five vaccine brands: AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm, Pfizer and Sinovac.
First up is Khun – a Thai honorific term similar to Sir or Madame – AstraZeneca, who receives a warm welcome.
However, this flight attendant rolls out the red carpet for frequent flyer, Khun Sinovac. She offers their entire party an upgrade to First Class, and even approves their request to drive the plane saying, “Sure! I’ll let the captain know. Even if the entire plane may die in a crash, that’s fine!”
Panic ensues once Pfizer tries to board their flight
The flight attendant’s demeanor does a complete 180° as Khun Pfizer boards the plane: at 0:29, she shows a stunned facial expression and goes on to notify the captain of the “emergency” situation.
In the end, the flight attendant informs the passenger that they will have to disembark the plane as they may not be able to enter Thailand. Instead, Khun Pfizer is advised take a flight going to one of the nation’s neighbouring countries, where they’ll be allowed in for sure.
As for Khun Moderna and Sinopharm, they were welcomed onto the plane with the disclaimer that they may or may not be allowed to enter Thailand. The flight attendant then asserted that in the event they aren’t allowed into the country, they can simply take a return flight.
