Never really fancied Chamelon, even when young

Perhaps it has something to do with my gender but I never really fancied going to Chamelon, even when I'm young and my mother would bring me there, literally forcing me to wait for her, while she do her shopping for her accessories.

I disliked the strong bright lighting within the shop, which I presume was there to allow the bling bling accessories to sparkle more. To me, the bright lighting is just a pain to the eye.

Many at times I would just wonder off alone while my mother was picking on her accessories (no idea why she needed so many since you can only put on so much at any one time). The sales attendant would look at me in such a peculiar way, as though I might be up to some mischief. Giving them the benefit of doubt, it may just being me thinking too much though.

Now that I've grown, it's lucky that my gf doesn't likes to shop at Chamelon or else I would be stuck in this extensively sparkled shop again.

I used to shop at Chamelon for hair accessories, that was about 3 years ago. Recently I happened to walk in while strolling around at Jurong Point, and I found that the collection hasn't changed one bit.

The pretty shiny stuff that I saw 3 years ago was still there. All of them. I was surprised at that. I thought they would evolve over time as well, but they didn't. Perhaps their niche in the market is teenage girls and the like, but even then, different trends are catching up now.

I used to consider Chamelon as one of the up-and-comers who could make it big, but looking at them 3 years on, I guess i was wrong. There's still hope, though, as it's not too late to update their stock variety.

When I was younger, Chamelon used to be my go-to store for all my accessories, hair and others. Chamelon stocks a wide range of things, from the basic hair bands and clips to detachable bra straps.

Everything here is really overpriced considering the quality of the items. A hair clip can go up to $5 even though it looks cheap looking and feels very flimsy. Chamelon also stocks cheap makeup from unknown brands. I would not recommend buying makeup from Chamelon as the makeup will probably damage your skin. The designs of the hair clips look like they're meant more for middle-aged aunties than for teenagers. The accessories look very gaudy, definitely not something I would ever buy, let alone wear.

Nowadays, the only times I will ever step into Chamelon is for the basic hairbands, hair ties and bobby pins. Although still unreasonably priced ($2.90 for a flimsy plastic hairband), their wide range of basics gives them a little bit of points.
