Old Chang Kee is my favourite place to stop up for a quick bite on the way for an appointment when my stomach is itching for some food.

I usually get their curry puffs and squid stick. Their curry puffs come in chicken, chicken mushroom and sardine fillings. I love their chicken curry puff the best. It is relatively huge for $1.20 and the filling is fresh. As for their squid sticks, they have 2 kinds. One with their body fried and the other with their head. I like the one with the squid head despite it being sinful since it is deep-fried.

Many love Old Chang Kee due to their chicken wings which is crispy and nice. Other snacks available at Old Chang Kee include carrot cake, fishball stick and spring roll.
People from all walks of life as well age groups stop up old change kee due as it makes one reminisce about the past at least for a second even if they’re rushing by. It sure does to me at least.

You often find Old Chang Kee at almost every shopping centre at the basement level as well as MRT stations. You won’t miss their yellow signboard inviting you in for some snacks!

Old Chang Kee is famous for their curry puffs and fried sotong (Squid). They have a lot of outlets, where their main focuses of customers are people who are on the go.

For me, I often buy their fried sotong, chicken wing and even their breakfast (glutinous rice), even though I am not a fan of curry puffs. Their glutinous rice are not very oily and are only sold at a cheap price. However, their glutinous rice is only available in the morning. Moving on to their fried chicken wing, even though it is oily, it is juicy and tender while the skin is crispy and tastes a bit like prawn paste chicken. Even thought they sell their fried chicken wing at a price of $1.40, I still feel that it is worth the price, given that their fried chicken wing taste so good! I would say that it will be one of their must-try other that their fried sotong.

Their food ranges from $0.70 to $1.80, which makes it affordable (depends on how much you order) for all! However, try to to order too much as majority of them are fried, thus making you feel sick of the oil residue that lingers in your mouth.

One of the reasons why I’m Old Chang Kee’s no. 1 fan! I love their Curry’O ($1.30)! I don’t have to describe much about how a curry puff taste like, but what’s so special is that their pastry crust is not very dry but crispy and they give a real generous amount of chicken and potatoes! However, I think the eggs inside could have been softer, as the rest of the ingredients are pretty soft, with the hard eggs; it makes it a little hard to swallow.

Looking for a place selling fried Chicken Wings ($1.40) that are SUPERB? One of the best I’ve had in Singapore would be OCK’s! “Yummmm!” But they could have gone a little stingier on its oil content, so that my fingers doesn’t drip oil every single time I have them. *Yikes*

But overall, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for something light before dinner or just as snacks, considering the varieties, the convenient locations and prices of the food items.

An all time local favourite, Old Chang kee has been around for as long as I can remember. Most go there for their famous curry puffs which is undoubtably delicious. The puff is crispy and the filling is fragrant and generous. The filling is not too spicy but has the strong traditional curry taste.

However, I patronize their stall for the crispy sotong on stick! It smells amazing and it's the perfect crispy salty snack. They have both the sotong head or wing (I like the wing which is essentially the tentacles). For all those who have never tried it, I suggest you head to the nearest branch and get yourself one right now.

Another of my favourite would be the crab claw. A unique twist on the fishcake but with the same texture but with a crispy outer layer! Prices are very affordable ranging from $1.20 to $2 plus. However, you should keep those fried stuff to a minimum as it can get very unhealthy but all in all, this is the one stop for your local favourites!

The fragrance of “Old Chang Kees” has the power to makes people walk towards it, uncontrollably. The food displayed at the counter all seems to be so perfect! No burnt parts, or any unwanted exceptions. Just by looking at the display counter full of food, makes my mouth watery. Chicken Wing, Curry Puff, Nuggets are all one of my are my favorite finger food. I believe it is also most of the Singaporeans too. Curry Puff is their best seller but I prefer the mushroom puff because i don’t really favor in spicy food.

It also provides more choices for Singaporeans that doesn’t favor in spicy food, like me. The price of the food is all below two dollars which are affordable for most of us, be it local or tourists.
This small enterprise business has a lot of franchise in Singapore now. Anywhere you go, you would most probably be able to see this yellow label shop selling many varieties of fried food. A quick bite for the busy Singaporeans.

Alternatively, it is also a good choice for tourists to get to taste more about Singapore’s’ local delights like curry puff and carrot cake, fried popiah. Just by typing all this make me hungry. Shall have a quick bite after school. *yummy*

As usual, you will tend to experience long queues for this little outlets, however the service at Old Chang Kee is fast and the aunties do smile even when it becomes quite busy. Among the numerous delicious finger foods on stick that they sell, I like the Soft Squid best as one bite and your teeth simply sink into them, for those who likes spice, you should try dipping the squid into Sambal (Malay-style chili sauce) and prepare a bottle of water!

Apart from that, I also like the Pineapple Pie, the outer layer is soft and crisp while the inside is filled with piping hot pineapple sauce, do be careful when you bite into it as it may burn your tongue!

Next is the Sardine Puff, it is my all-time favorite snack, however, I am a little disappointed that they are no longer the huge size when it was first promoted, now it has become almost half the size smaller.

Nevertheless, the taste, spiciness and flavor stay the same and the most important part, their sardine do not smell fishy at all!

Price wise it is still very cheap, eating these finger food while its hot will give out best flavor and I bet you will be craving for some Old Chang Kee delights now!

Old Chang Kee has been standing in Singapore for many years as they provides yummy fried food that taste real good. My favourites are fried sotong and fried chicken wings. Their fried food must have been marinated with special seasonings for overnight if not the taste won't be so delicious. You can simply have it without any sauce or seasoning.

In the past they have sambal chili sauce that goes perfectly with the fried food. It is spicy, hot and give a tint of sweetness which make so many people addicted to it. Many people love it and generally have it because of the chili sauce. Sadly, they changed the sauce and it is really disappointing but the fried snacks are still as good as before. Currently, the sambal chili sauce is back and on sales in bottles. I'm so glad to have it at home as I can dipped it with any finger food. I can simply go to NTUC FairPrice and buy seaweed chicken and nuggets, oven bake them till crisp then dip into Old Chang Kee sambal chili sauce.

I have always been an avid fan of Old Chang Kee (OCK) ever since I was a little kid. The sotong balls were - and still - is a favorite of mine. Unfortunately, the prices have inflated and it cost $1.40 for just 3 balls now.
Other than that, my other personal favorites include their Curry and sardine puff. They are not stubborn in the fillings - and its quite worthy for its price ($1.10) As I am one that doesn't eat alot, I would often split the puff with my mum. :)
There's one thing I noticed too - The sardine puff used to be quite spicy, but I believe OCK has further revised its recipe. It doesn't taste as spicy now and my dad likes it this way!

Of course, eating too much of OCK isn't really ideal as most of their food items are fried. It's good if you are looking at finger food or just something to satisfy your little craving.

I miss their student promotion (Students would get $0.20 off the total bill if a student ID was presented). I was told that it was long over, much to my disappointment. It's a pity they didn't keep the promotion constant!

I used to visit Old Chang Kee after school frequently for an in-between meal snack. It was always tempting me with the wide range of fried food on sticks which were convenient and delicious to eat. The recommended product is the curry puff but it is too spicy for me so I seldom eat that. I also find that the pastry is too thick and oily for my liking.

What I like and eat most often is the sotong ball onstik. This is just simple and chewy and really easy to eat too. I tried their sotong onstik which is quite unique, very chewy and tasty. Sometimes, I eat their nuggets but I find that their nuggets are not so fresh, usually slightly hard. The gyoza onstik is always nice and tasty with enough vegetable filling.

Recently, I have been seeing Old Chang Kee everywhere. As it expands with more outlets, there is also a wider range of fried food now with the chicken wings, cheese meatballs and cheese sausages etc. However, I find that the standard of food has dropped and the prices keep on increasing.

The best thing I like here are the Sotongs on a stick! These creatures hold so much flavour, which is enhanced by Old Chang Kee's crispy batter. Fried to perfect, this snack is my go-to snack when I'm at an OCK stall.

However, it is noticeable how oily some of the items sold here are. Deep-fried in oil and not baked, these may not be the healthiest snacks around. Health conscious Singaporeans may not want to eat this too often, but it is alright to indulge once in a while!
