Looking at my username, one should know that I'm a fish lover. I have been to Manhattan Fish Market twice, drawn in by the promotions they offered.

The first occasion was on a Saturday afternoon at their City Square outlet, tucked in a quiet corner of the mall. My order was a fish set with soup and a free drink. Service was prompt as there were few customers. The soup was quite nice and the fish fiery. Overall, the meal was satisfying but all the orders came almost together so everything was laid on the table waiting to be consumed.

The next occasion was also a weekend lunch at the then newly opened Changi City Point. This time, we had a 1 for 1 Dory Fish set with herb rice. The outlet was crowded and we had to queue for a while and waited some time for the food to be served. Fish was tasty with creamy sauce and the rice fragrant but it couldn't satisfy my ravenous appetite.

Going to try the Flaming Seafood Platter on my next visit!

I don't really fancy seafood. And I can do without fish in my life. But I have to say that Manhattan Fish Market serves a realllllly good seafood platter. I love it and I would choose to eat here anytime. And it's definitely better than Fish & Co, other than the lesser variety of fishes to choose from.

The seafood platter is amazing. The serving is huge, and I thought that the fish was good. The rice and fries are plentiful, so there's a huge portion of carbs which will fill you up pretty fast. The prawns are... okay. A little tough, I would say. But in general, I wasn't disappointed with their seafood platter at all. Top it up with cheese and it'll be perfect.

If you're going with a big group of friends, I would recommend you to make a reservation because it's perpetually crowded during meal times.

As its name suggests, Manhatten Fish Market serves up a wide array of fish cuisine, as well as some other dishes. Their speciality lies in the fish-related dishes though, so my suggestion is to go for these dishes, which are usually nicer than the other dishes.

My favourite dish is probably their fish & cheese, which is their take on fish & chips, with an additional serving of cheese to go with the fries. Cheese fries and fish: best combination ever. The dish comes with two huge pieces of fish and a serving of salad, which is pretty much filling and worth the affordable price. Another dish worth trying is the flaming seafood platter, which can be shared with your friends. It comes with a large variety of seafood, which is basically heaven for seafood lovers. My only qualm is about the rice though, which seems to take up half the space in the dish. It doesn't really taste that nice, and I'd rather eat some nice fries over the rice any time.

That being said, Manhatten Fish Market is a pretty decent dining choice, especially if you want to have a gathering with your friends. Just take note that some of the outlets, such as the one at Plaza Sing, will be pretty packed during dining hours though, and you might have to queue before you can get a table.

I'm not a big fan of battered fish; it's nice, but gets boring quickly. Naturally, I was quite drawn to the seafood platter on first sight. The platters a variety of prawns, fish and fries on top of a bed of rice. It gives enough variety to make things interesting, but the large portion of rice and fries doesn't really appeal to me. Get the flaming seafood platter to have your platter topped up with a coating of cheese blowtorched to bubbling perfection. Its a small touch but so worth it.

The platter serves two, and even so is difficult to finish. Don't forget to get the Honey Mustard sauce!

I have been to their outlets at Causeway Point, Junction 8 and City Square Mall. The ambience is acceptable, I have nothing much to nit-pick. It is a casual dining establishment, not a fine dining restaurant. I would advise potential diners to stay away from Junction 8's outlet at lunch or dinner service as it is usually very packed with diners. Best to go there just before the lunch or dinner crowd arrives or just wait till they leave.

Most of the times, I would order an Angry Barramundi for myself. For about $17, you get a whole barramundi of decent size. I love the way the fish is fried and the accompanying sambal is excellent. Makes a very decent meal for anyone hungry enough.

Next, I would also recommend the seafood pasta in cream sauce. This is the dish that got me hooked on mussels. For the price (about $14) you get a decent amount of spaghetti with calamari and 2 big fat mussels in cream sauce. You can't complain.

Service is a little spotty. If you go to a really busy outlet, expect some disappointments. The outlet at City Square Mall is cosy and is not too packed on most days. Great place for a quiet meal with your loved ones.

"Offering innovation and variety in our menu" is one of the missions of Manhattan Fish Market. However, have they been successful in fulfilling their mission? Sadly, no. After a recent visit to Manhattan Fish Market, I have to say that they lack greatly in variety of seafood. Nothing separates their seafood from the likes of their competitors such as Fish and Co. In fact, pay slightly more and you'll be able to get much tastier seafood at Fish n Co.

I ordered their signature Fish and chips and was greatly disappointed. With Fish and Co. offering a large variety of fish n chips which tantalizes your taste buds, Manhattan Fish Market with only it's measly selection of fish and chips of mediocre quality falls short.

I also had a bad experience with the customer service at the White Sands Branch. My friend and I had to deal with impatient staff who despite the restaurant being empty at that time seemed to be in a rush. We also had to remind the staff several times to serve us the drinks we ordered. Hopefully, the customer service at their other branches are better.

I visited the Manhattan's at the former Iluma with a Groupon voucher about last month ago. I ordered for myself their Crispy Barramundi, which came with rice and coleslaw. My friend ordered their signature Fish N' Chips for herself. To kick things off we ordered their Fiery Shrimp.

the waitress who took our orders were polite enough, , but I felt service was slow as we were made to wait for our iced water and Fiery Shrimp. However, the shrimp were definitely worth the wait! The spiciness of their batter made them a culinary delight! I wish I could say the same for the main dishes, too. Sadly, the Spicy Barramundi was not satisfying, due to the fish being too plain-tasting and too little of the spicy gravy dribbled on it. The saddest thing, however, was their supposedly "signature" Fish N' Chips. Needless to say, I've had better. Way better, in fact. The dory fillets were poorly prepared and the fish was still wet on the inside. The fries were also nothing special. I certainly expected more from Manhattan's, this being their signature dish.

Similar to Fish & Co., Manhattan Fish Market offers pretty much the same kind of food but at a lower quality. Tried their seafood platter before and it has way too much rice and fries and did not taste quite as good as Fish & Co.. They have unique flamed grilled prawns where they will flame the prawns in front of you before serving. But that’s about that. The sauce they drizzle over the prawns is too heavy and creamy that it masked the delicious grilled prawns’ aroma.

The restaurant at Plaza Singapura is really cramped and is not ideal to go on a Friday evening or weekends. There are too many people queuing outside and too many people inside that you can hear what the diners at the next table to talking. And it is disturbing to have service staff brushing past near you as you eat – because tables are too near each other. One other horrid experience I had at the Central branch was my discovery of fungus in the pepper shaker. I was shaking it and nothing came out, so I opened the cover and to my horror found white fluffy fungus inside. I informed the staff and they just replaced it with another pepper shaker and that was it. Will not visit Manhattan unless my friends insist on going there to eat. But I will never ever touch their pepper ever.

I am personally not a fish person and I hardly patronize restaurants like Manhattan Fish Market (MFM) and Fish & Co, but personal preferences remain as personal and I do dine at these restaurants when the need arises. For example, a gathering! So my latest trip to MFM was at the outlet at Junction 8. The outlet was quite empty at around 5plus and my friends and I got our seats in a short while. We ordered the set that came with the fries, fish and various seafood. It comes in a huge squarish metal pan! If the restaurant is packed by the time you arrive, you'll probably see many of that on tables of others when you walk in the restaurant.

We ordered two of that and waited for about 20 minutes for the dishes to arrive. Longer time might be positive because it probably means that they are preparing the dish from scratch. Fresh! Another probability might be they are taking their own sweet time and dilly-dallying. Forgivable if the ultimate result is fresh, tasty food. In this case, it is! The fish is fluffy on the inside and fried to crispy perfection. Just felt that the batter was a tad too salty but maybe that's just me? The prawns were succulent and prawn heads came along with it. I always feel that the prawn heads make everything look more authentic. If you are heading there in a group, I would recommend getting this set to share instead of ordering individual dishes. The set has everything that you need to taste from here and is at a great value as opposed to individual ordering. For a non-fish lover like me, I think it is good and I wouldn't mind having to eat fish there again if there was a gathering. I wouldn't head there alone though because it means that I would not be able to order the sets (I don't have a Hulk appetite) and I really like the combination of being able to eat the prawns, then the fries then a bit of the fish. You get the idea ;)

With all the recent deals or special food offers of Manhattan Fish Market delicacies, it drools and draws even more customers to dining at the various outlets. I am personally a frequent customer for this restaurant especially due to the student specials that they offer during weekdays from 2pm to 5pm, where prices range from as low as $6.90 and the portion is relatively huge, especially for the fish and chips.

I have personally experienced queuing for about an hour at their Causeway Point Outlet and many other customers are also willing to queue for the mouthwatering food that Manhattan Fish Market offers!

However, the service that I got from their Iluma outlet was quite bad, perhaps due to the lack of staff working over there during dinner hours. We have to wait for quite a while to get our food served and also to make our payment. Their service certainly need some improvement to serve the customers better.

Manhattan Fish Market sells almost the same thing and comparable to Fish and Co. But I personally prefer the taste of food that Manhattan Fish Market offers as compared to Fish and Co, perhaps the food quality is better over here.

Overall, the food over there is worthwhile and certainly worth a try!
