9 Most Conducive Working Spots In Town With Power Plugs & Free + Strong Wifi

Top public working spaces

You’ve finally gotten down to nailing that final paragraph of your 2,000 word essay after 7 hours of butt cramps, with just a few minutes to spare for your final deadline. And just as you’re about to press the golden submit button, it happens: The wifi disconnects.

Or even worse. Your battery’s #ded – just like your will to press on.

Alas, the idea of a study sesh gone wrong sends a chill down our spine too. We’ve sussed out 9 reliable places in central Singapore with free wifi and power plugs for you to experience maximum productivity at its finest.

1. Jewel Coffee

Jewel Coffee at Claymore Connect comes with both indoor and outdoor seating, and a huge communal table that’s ideal for group discussions. There’s even free iced water if you need to refresh yourself mid-study!

I opted for the window seat, which even had a personal lamp for me to use

Note: Power plugs are located inside the cafe.

Location: #01-01, Claymore Connect Mall, 442 Orchard Road, 238879
Nearest MRT: Orchard
Opening Hours: 7am – 10pm daily

2. Cafe and Meal MUJI

You’re probably thinking, “Huh, MUJI got cafe ah?”

The answer is yes, and it’s a pretty decent one at that. Treat yo’self to some yummy Japanese desserts at Cafe and Meal, where you can take a convenient study break by popping into MUJI for some good ol’ retail therapy. Well, whether you decide stay put or not, we assure you their free wifi definitely will.

Location: #04-36, Orchard Paragon, 238859
Nearest MRT: Orchard

3. HubQuarters @ *SCAPE

Here’s one for the muggers who need no distractions like coffee or cake. HubQuarters at *SCAPE is a spot specially created for the younger crowd to get down to business – with the books, I mean.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t give yourself a little break – there’s a chill area for you to relax after a long day of studying. And there’s no need to go hunting for power plugs here – there are outlets installed under every table.

Location: #04-01, 2 Orchard Link, 237978
Nearest MRT: Somerset
Opening Hours: 9am – 9pm (Mon – Sat), Closed on Sundays

4. The Book Cafe

With comfy couches and shelves of books, The Book Cafe will make you feel right at home. Head straight to the sofas for a laid-back study date with friends, where powerpoint extensions are available for multiple devices.

This library-themed cafe is also the perfect place to visit if you’re planning to camp till late – it’s open till 12.30am on weekends.

5. Group Therapy

Studying alone can get a little lonely, so grab your friends and head to Group Therapy. This cafe sits close to 50 people, and even comes with a separate room for bigger groups. There’s no reason to fight over who gets to charge their laptops first – the place is well fit with enough power plugs for everyone.

They’ve even got some pretty solid wifi, which we managed to stay connected to even from the bottom floor. Just remember to ask them for the password at the counter!
