Singapore is known for their large array of food, wherever you go, there will definitely be food. In the lower levels of shopping malls, a whole street dedicated to oily grubby food and a whole section of luxury food choices. We are all foodies and we definitely will not hesitate to travel from one side of Singapore to the other just for the sake of satisfying our tummies. Different countries are popular for a certain type of food, and no less for Singapore. This is a brief guide on some of the local food you have to try when in our little island of Singapore.
1. Chilli Crab
Hard shelled crabs which are cooked in a thick and eggy rich sauce. Our common style of eating is of course, no cutlery, with dozens of deep fried buns to soak up the gravy. I recommend at least half a dozen buns for one.
Some places which are known to serve up a mean chilli crab:

1018 East Coast Parkway
Jumbo Seafood Restaurant
East Coast Seafood Centre, Blk 1206 East Coast Parkway #01-07/08, Singapore 449883
No Signboard Seafood Restaurant
Vivocity, 1 Harbourfront Walk, #03-02, Singapore 098585
Pongol Choon Seng Seafood Restaurant
23A/B Turnhouse Road
2. Hainanese Chicken Rice
Steamed or boiled chicken served with fragrant rice cooked in chicken stock and served with 2 slices of cucumber slices to cut through the oiliness. This dish is really addictive, even though how simple it looks from the outside. For ultimate pleasure, dip the tender chicken slices in dark sauce and chilli sauce with pounded ginger.
