For some reason, they are known as the Harvard of all after school activities. In order to say you have molded a well-rounded child, he/she would have gone through some ballet/piano training on top of their school studies, on top of their after school CCAs (co-curricular activities), on top of their tuition, on top of their homework, on top of their parent’s assigned homework, on top of their tuition homework, and on top of the occasional playing with friends.
Phew, it sounds mega stressful but as a child, it’s a rather strange concept to feel stress isn’t it? You don’t know what stress is. You just go wherever your mom/pop fetches you to. Was I bad child? Was I causing nuisance? Was I being an utter idiot at books thus they decided to bring me to the next highly thought of thing? I always wondered why we were all placed into one activity after another. Was there a constant competition among all parents on who can create the greatest child of all time that can do everything from cleaning the floor to building a car? Were there 3 judges secretly judging behind a two way mirror as we falter and stumble helplessly like little pink covered kids?
Oh well, it was kind of like my primary school education. Don’t remember any of it but we all went through it together. I just remember the good food I had. 🙂
If you’re wondering, I went for a year of piano, pretended I played and gave up because I couldn’t read the notes and play at the same time. Multi-tasking wasn’t quite my forte at that age.
