Waterway Point – SpongeBob Fun Run & Fun Walk 2025
If it’s your goal to up your step count in the pursuit of fitness, but a full-fledged marathon just seems too high-level, we’ve got just the thing for you. Waterway Point is hosting a Fun Run right at their mall, along with a Fun Walk for folks who prefer a chill and relaxed pace. To distract you from the fact that it’s exercise, the event will have an adorable SpongeBob Pirates theme.
These festivities are part of Waterway Point’s “Dive Into Sustainability” campaign to celebrate Environmental Month. Happening from now till 27th April 2025, expect other happenings at the mall such as a recycling drive where you can earn FRx gift cards, a marine roadshow conducted by WWF, and an eco-market selling sustainable goodies from housewares to apparel.
SpongeBob Pirates-themed Fun Run & Fun Walk for all ages
No matter how old we get, SpongeBob’s perpetual enthusiasm is undeniably infectious. And that’s exactly the spirit to have when participating in the SpongeBob Pirates Walk & Run happening at Waterway Point on 26th April 2025.
Your journey will take you through the scenic Punggol Waterway.
The non-competitive Fun Run is a 7km route, starting from The Plaza at Waterway Point and spanning across Punggol Waterway. Along the way, you’ll be kept chipper with lots of themed decor featuring SpongeBob and his mateys, all decked out in pirate gear.
If a leisurely stroll is more your vibe, sign up for the 3km Fun Walk instead. Besides being able to enjoy the pirate-themed sights and soaking in the atmosphere, participants will also get to partake in a fun windmill making workshop at the Race Village. you’ll also get to partake in some games at the event booths along the way.

Whether you’re doing the run or walk, participants get access to loads of event-exclusive swag. These include SpongeBob oversized tees, tote bags and pouches, beach towels, and even a series of blind boxes. These are available for purchase alongside your event tickets, which start at $49.90/pax for the Fun Run and $49/pax for the Fun Walk. Tickets come with a kit worth $65 by default, comprising a t-shirt, wristband, bandana, fan, and a glorious medal for finishers.
Because this event is part of Waterway Point’s sustainability campaign, participants will actually be working out for a good cause! 1 tree will also be planted for every run and walk finisher – up to 1,000 trees across the entire event. Go on and put some pep in your step, ’cause you’ll be contributing to the health of the planet.
If you’re heading to Waterway Point to cheer for your loved ones in the event, you can still cop some SpongeBob merch just by shopping or dining in the mall. Spend $180 (or $280 for supermarket transactions) across a maximum of 3 same-day transactions to score a free SpongeBob-themed travel pillow from now till 13th April, or a SpongeBob carryall from 14th-27th April.
Celebrate Environmental Month with roadshows & an eco-market
Besides the tree-planting initiative led by the SpongeBob Pirates Walk & Run, Waterway Point – along with Tiong Bahru Plaza and The Centrepoint – will be allowing shoppers to “Dive Into Sustainability” with a slew of activities from now till 27th April 2025.
Tackle the Save The Ocean Mission to score a $5 FRx Gift Card
Try your hand at 3 different activity stations at the Save The Ocean Mission zone, and you’ll get to walk away with a $5 FRx Gift Card upon completion of the missions. Each station has a fun carnival-style game with a unique twist centred around saving the marine.
For example, an Ocean Clean Up version of our childhood’s classic fishing game, and a plastic bottle ring toss themed around conservation and sustainability.
To take part in this, shoppers need to spend $30 to redeem a Mission Card. If you complete all 3 stations, the $5 FRx Gift Card is yours! Here are the participating malls with Save The Ocean Mission activations:

Shoppers will be rewarded with sustainable goodies that help make it easier to lead an eco-friendly lifestyle. Spend $100 at participating stores to redeem these sustainable essentials from local eco living retailer, MamaShop:

Plastic Bottle Collection Drive with gift cards up for grabs
Simply bring down 5 used and cleaned plastic bottles to the collection point to redeem a $2 FRx Gift Card – this can be used to offset your spending at Fraser Malls across Singapore.
Do note that redemptions are limited to 1 gift card per shopper, per day. So if you have a big stash of recyclable plastic bottles at home, it’s time for daily trips to the following malls to score lots of gift cards:

WWF Marine-Themed Roadshow & Solar Light Workshop
We love an opportunity for the whole fam to get a dose of environmental wisdom. WWF will be holding an exhibition centred around marine ecosystems. Visit to learn more about the realities of climate change, pollution, and overfishing on marine life, and how we can play a part in protecting our oceans.
You’ll also be able to get hands-on with the Solarbuddy Assembly Workshop by WWF. WWF will be guiding participants on how to assemble solar-powered lights, and these will be donated straight to kids living in remote Southeast Asian countries. Plagued by lack of access to proper lighting, something we likely take for granted in our daily lives, these children have to make do with kerosene-based lighting which poses health as well as environmental hazards.
If you’d like to make a difference in their lives, redeem a workshop pass from the Customer Service Counter when you spend $50 at participating FRx stores. Limited to the first 20 redemptions per day, so hurry! Here are the workshop dates and timings across the various malls:

Eco-Market & Succulent Plant Workshop
Pop-up markets are always a vibe, and The Centrepoint, Tiong Bahru Plaza, plus Waterway Point will be helping us achieve conscious consumption and sustainable living through dedicated Eco-Market activations. Each of the local vendors will be selling a curated selection of products that are eco-friendly and good for the Earth.
From household items to sustainable fashion, you’ll feel good about your purchase whether you’re shopping for yourself or picking up some thoughtful gifts.
There’ll also be workshops to teach you how to pot your very own succulent plant. Walk away with a nifty little plant baby that is low-maintenance, and will spruce up your desk or living spaces nicely. Shoppers will be able to participate in this activity free of charge, while stocks last. There’ll be 60 succulents available per day on weekdays and 120 per day on weekends.
