Time truly flies, and 21st century Punggol, plus Waterway Point, is proof of just how far the district has come since Punggol 21 was launched in 1996. Today, the vibrant waterfront neighbourhood is a highly coveted address for young families. The mall is celebrating 10 years of fun and community this March to May too, and here’s all the excitement you can join in.
From now till 12th April, there’s an online egg hunt with a mission to collect up to 25 digital eggs by playing mini games and answering trivia questions to win Gudetama magnets, bandanas, and other prizes.
If you live for the thrill of the hunt, the in-mall egg hunt will be right up your alley. Happening from 11th to 19th April, there will be 10 hidden eggs around the mall.
Here’s a heads up – you’re not looking for actual eggs, but geo-bound QR codes on Gudetama standees that you’ll have to seek.
The highest level of this hide and seek game will take place on 18th April, where there’s a literal egg hunt journey for participants of the Gudetama Egg-citing Walk to find and collect the remaining 20 eggs.
Just in case you missed it, last year’s character fun walk involved a certain sea-dwelling sponge. This year, it’s taken a perma-tired egg turn, and if you’re fans of Sanrio’s lazy egg like we are, you’ll want to mark this event on your calendar.
This year’s Gudetama Egg-citing Walk will kick off at 8am in The Plaza (Basement 1), with a 3km distance that’s doable for everyone both young and old. Besides taking in the scenery on the walk, you’ll also have simple challenges to complete along the way.
Tickets to this walk start from $36, inclusive of a race pack which comes with a T-shirt, drawstring bag, fridge magnet, fan, and finisher medal for those who complete the walk. You can purchase your tickets on the PlayFest website.
Apart from the eggy activations, there will be a week-long event at the Village Square on Level 1 of Waterway Point. Here, there’s a chill-out zone and giant gashapon machine, where you might spin to win one of 120 Golden Tickets to participate in the Mega Ball Hunt, where you could win FRx Gift Cards worth up to $8,664, tenants’ cash or product vouchers, or FRx Gift Cards worth up to $41,500.
All you’ll have to do is spend $20 in a single transaction at participating FRx stores to receive a gashapon token. While the machine will be at the Village Square from 13th to 19th April, you can continue to spin a smaller version of the gashapon machine at the Level 2 Concierge in the West Wing for eligible purchases from 27th March to 12th April, as well as from 20th April to 3rd May.
Kids will also love the inflatable, Gudetama-themed ball pit here. Spend $50 in a single receipt to redeem a 25-minute play session for 1 person.
The fun doesn’t end there; there will be a retail corner and booths where you can stock up on Gudetama and Sanrio merch including T-shirts and plushies, as well as take part in interactive activities. Check out the Waterway Point website for more details.
If you’re one of the lucky few who received a Golden Ticket from the gashapon, you’ll have scored an invitation to join the Mega Ball Hunt that’s happening on 19th April 2026.
There will be 12 rounds, each where 10 of these lucky Golden Ticket holders will grab the required coloured balls with their aprons, and drop them into the cash prize tunnels.
The participant who fills their funnel to the top first will be declared the winner of that round, and will then be eligible for the ultimate treasure box. Top prizes for this grand round include FRx Gift Cards valued at $1,888, $2,888, and $3,888, which the fastest participants will get their hands on.
Spend $50 in a single transaction at participating FRx stores, and you’ll get a lucky draw chance to win one of 10 limited-edition Waterway Point 10th Anniversary 999.9 Gold Bars (2g) too.
Another limited-ed gift-with-purchase opportunity during Waterway Point’s 10th anniversary celebrations is the Gudetama blind box, which is now on till 3rd May, while stocks last.
Spend $150 in a maximum of 3 same-day receipts, or $200 for supermarket transactions, and you’ll receive a Gudetama blind box containing an exclusive Gudetama foldable reusable shopping bag with pouch.
Since it’s a blind box, you won’t know what design you’re getting till you break into it. Plus, there are 10 lucky blind boxes with extra surprises within – think FRx Gift Cards worth up to $300, watches worth $248, and sunglasses worth $110.
As part of Waterway Point’s ongoing sustainability campaign, there will also be a Tesla Junior Driving School, which is the first of its kind in Singapore. More than simply bringing your little ones to test drive fun-sized Teslas, it’ll be an educational journey into understanding how clean energy and innovation can help to reduce our carbon footprint.
The Tesla Junior Driving School will be held at The Cove at Basement 2 from 20th to 26th April. To redeem a 10-minute mini EV ride, all you need to do is present a same-day receipt with a minimum spend of $30 at the event.
The excitement isn’t over – also until 3rd May is the lucky draw for a TWOAK X PLASTIFY stool made from contact lens blisters. Simply spend $30 in a single receipt for 1 entry into this lucky draw.
You can also do your part in this sustainability movement by bringing your contact lens blisters to the Level 2 Concierge in the West Wing, where the contact lens blister collection bin can be found.
Give your contact lens blisters extra mileage by letting PLASTIFY transform them into everyday items such as clothing fibres and food containers.
The lineup of events for Waterway Point’s 10th anniversary is such fun, you’ll surely be tempted to come and join even if you aren’t a Punggolite. With the slew of mega prizes, and the chance to take part in all these Gudetama activities, our question to you is: why not?
