There’s no need to hop on a plane to travel the world, because 150 life-sized bears from across the globe have landed at Gardens by the Bay. The United Buddy Bears exhibition, originally from Berlin, brings together colourful, hand-painted bears for some unique photo ops under the Supertrees.

This iconic exhibition, which started in Berlin back in 2002, has finally made its way to Singapore. Each of the 145 bears represents a different country – try and spot the SG bear – and has been painted by an artist from that nation, with 5 special bears rounding out the circle.

And don’t worry, these 2m-tall bears aren’t here to get political. They stand side by side in 2 giant circles, spreading good vibes about openness, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence across borders. The exhibition is like a giant, global group hug you can walk through and snap endless photos of.

It also celebrates 60 years of diplomatic ties between Singapore and Germany, supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Germany.
Gardens by the Bay is running 2 challenges for visitors to show off their creativity and score some cute prizes. Winners of both challenges will walk away with an adorable mini United Buddy Bears figurine – a cute keepsake from the exhibition.
From now till 31st August 2025, snap playful or artsy pics with 3 different country bears and share your adventure in an Instagram carousel. Don’t forget to tag @gardensbythebay and use these hashtags: #gardensbythebay #UnitedBuddyBears #BearWorldTourSG #growingtogether.
