We’ve always loved organising events for our readers, and if you’ve been with us on our #instawalks in Sungei Buloh and Pulau Ubin, you know that you’ll have a fun time exploring nature with us.
This guy had too much fun
To celebrate Ubin Day, TSL will be back in Pulau Ubin, this time with a team of yoga enthusiasts in tow to help us with our first ever Island Yoga event! Other than yoga, there are a ton of activities organised by the volunteers to showcase the best of Ubin over the weekend – it’s an event that should not be missed. Here are just some of the many reasons why you should visit Ubin Day:

Yoga is such a spiritual experience and what better place to do yoga than at Pulau Ubin? We’re organising the Island Yoga event this Sunday and you’re invited. Be one with yourself and nature by joining our beginner and advanced yoga sessions. Our lovely influencers (read below!) will take you through the beginner sessions, while the advanced sessions are conducted by the experienced yoga instructors from The Yoga Co, Angie and Erica.
Check out the yoga schedules here and don’t forget to SIGN UP NOW.
You won’t have to bring your own mats to the event. Participants who sign up and join us for our yoga sessions get to keep their yoga mats after the lesson. After a good workout, you’ll be getting snack bars and a goodie bag to remember us by.
If you love freebies, join us for some yoga fun and sign up here.
If you’re following us on Instagram, you should know about #TSLTeamThemedThursdays, where we dress up according to that week’s theme and show the world just how cool we really are. As a part of this super fun team, I can assure you that we’re fun in real life too – this office is bursting with personality.
We’ll be there cheering you on and making sure everyone has fun, so you’re guaranteed to have a good time. Come hang out with us!
You’re not going to be doing yoga alone! Your favourite super healthy and fit influencers will be there too, doing the same poses as you and giving you serious #fitspo envy.
Meet Sandra Riley Tang (@sandrarileytang), Georgina Poh (@sugarandspice), Hirzi Zulkiflie (@hirzi.zulkiflie) and Audrey Goh (@sparrowonweed) at the Island Yoga event on Ubin Day!

You’ll be seeing everything through new eyes on Ubin Day. There are nature walks galore for everyone to enjoy. Go birdwatching, make friends with horseshoe crabs, tour the kampongs and explore the Chek Jawa Boardwalk. The fun doesn’t end when the sun sets. Join the Nature Society for a nightwalk and meet the nocturnal inhabitants of Pulau Ubin.
If you prefer to discover Ubin by yourself, don’t forget to download the guide app, Naturing Ubin. It tells you everything you’ve ever wanted to know about Ubin – trek your way to the hidden landmarks, turn your eye to the skies for an amazing variety of birds and never get lost again.
Get inspired – all of nature’s glory is your subject on Ubin Day. The Artists Village is hosting a woodcut printing workshop free of charge and the Nature Photographic Society is organising a photography workshop for you to hone those wildlife photography skills.
It’s a day for artists to wander around the island and snap the best of Singapore’s wildlife. Chek Jawa is a prime location for macro photography too.

It’s hard to wish upon a star in Singapore because light pollution makes the stars less visible on the mainland. Our nature haven, Pulau Ubin, boasts a stunning view of the night sky. Let the NUS Astronomical Society and the Marine Parade Astronomy Club be your guide to universe on Ubin Day! Registration is not required. Find out more here.
During Ubin Day, you can join all sorts of events to help your fellow animals. Save Our Street Dogs wants you to snap a photo of the Kampung Dogs on Ubin and post it to Instagram to give these cuties their moment to shine. Find out more here.
Give back to the environment by planting a tree or helping to clean up our beaches and forests on Ubin Day.
Other than yoga, Ubin Day is your chance to try something new. Take a cycling tour with Pedal Ubin, dare to ride a mountain bike during a clinic by the Mountain Biking Association or sign up for a fly-fishing clinic.
You’re spoilt for choice. There are even two ways to kayak: through the mangroves (both here and here) or in Ubin Quarry! Even better, most activities are free.
Ubin is a tranquil haven a short boat ride away – it’s hard to imagine that this teeming paradise full of flora and fauna is part of Singapore. Clear blue seas, lush forests and incredible wildlife – embrace the slower pace of life, bring out the fishing rods and enjoy the peace.
If you’ve never been to Ubin, there’s no better introduction to this amazing island than Ubin Day! Keep yourself updated on their Facebook page.
