This is how J.Avenue became the trendiest shopping area for youngsters

What is J A.V.E?

More than just a level of plain shopping, J.Avenue is the paragon of Affordability, Variety and Ever-change. I was here for the launch of J.Avenue last weekend, the new retail zone located at Level 2 of J Cube. The shopaholic in me was going bonkers from all the affordable and chic varieties of clothes and accessories on display. Think 40 fashion shops and 23 niche shops specialising in gadgets and hobbies from $5.

As a 21st century shopper, heading to malls is no longer just about buying clothes since we have the convenience of online blogshops now. Malls have to offer a more complete shopping experience to engage customers. Here is how J.Avenue managed to do it.

3D Floor Art

J.Avenue’s funky and tech-savvy concept makes them different from other malls. Adorned with brightly coloured and cheerful designed motifs, J.Avenue is ideal for Instagram addicts like me. Be sure to look out for their 3D floor art and strike your own dramatic poses for the camera.

Social Walls

Also, look out for the Social Wall that will save you from muscle ache trying to fit your big group of friends into a selfie. Shoppers can take photos at the two designated kiosks and decorate them with themed frames before uploading them on the huge 4 by 3 meters LED screen for all to see.

Flipbooth

Just when I was trying to find my seflie on the Social Wall, I was distracted by the commotion behind me. The first in Singapore, J.Avenue has created a Flipbooth for shoppers to take a 15 second fun video of themselves. Nothing beats capturing fun memories with your friends and getting an exclusive limited edition 60-page Flipbook that replays the action in print.

Redeem a free pictorial Flipbook with a minimum spending of $70 in JCube from 8 September 2014 to 26 October 2014. A maximum of three same-day receipts, with at least one from J.Avenue.

Joy Box

I found the kid in me, being very drawn to the Joy Box thronged with little kids. It offers a fun break in between all the retail therapy, giving shoppers an opportunity to win a mystery prize by playing a simple game. No purchase is required!

J.Avenue’s Online Portal

Having a packed schedule everyday, it would help if there’s some information about the place I am going to. You can access J.Avenue’s online portal here, available in both desktop and mobile versions. At the website, you can get a peek of the features by J.Avenue’s tenants.

More interestingly, create and share your own “lookbook” by pairing outfits with the different merchandises.

Getting to J.Avenue

I can’t help but feel lazy on weekends, especially when the public transports are packed with passengers. I see myself going to J.Avenue a lot after hearing about their partnership with Easy Taxi.

Easy Taxi now offers a 50% cash rebate on all taxi trips that end at JCube from 11am to 8pm every Saturday and Sunday in the month of September. If you’re looking for a 100% rebate, simply spend a minimum of $40 in J.Avenue.

Consider it done.
