Admit it – regardless of whether we’re 4 or 40, most of us simply can’t resist a good fairytale. If past local events like VivoCity’s Alice in Wonderland had you grinning like a Cheshire cat, The Secret Patio’s upcoming tea party would be right up your alley.
Have I Gone Mad? is happening over 2 weekends only – from 12th-14th and 19th-21st August 2022. Step out of the streets of Duxton and into a cafe filled with dreamy decor, alongside fresh bakes and quirky drinks.

The folks at The Secret Patio are no strangers to pop-up events. In the past, the venue has hosted plenty of dining experiences including a garden-themed party, Valentine’s Day planetarium night, and Squid Game event.

This time around, the all-white venue will be taken over by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Photo spots will be plentiful, with topiary trees filled with roses, artificial butterflies, and both real and artificial larger-than-life flowers.

Those who’ve visited in the past will know that seats are limited so it’s best to place your bookings as soon as possible. Only 9 picnic-style floor seats and 3 table seats will be up for grabs over the event’s 6 days!

There can be no Mad Hatter party without food – tickets for this event come with 2 pastries of your choice. Diners can choose from 8 sweet and savoury options baked on the day by Bakery Brera including Gourmet Sausage Croissants and Cruffins. Add-ons are also available for those still feeling peckish after.

Drinks are available at a top-up. Choose between cold brew, tea ($5-$7) and alcoholic drinks ($18) that come served with a cute “Drink Me” label. Every cold drink purchased here comes with a set of reusable bamboo straws (U.P. $12), with proceeds that go towards the charity organisation, Blank-Slate.
The more the merrier holds true here, as coming with your group of 4 also grants you a complimentary pot of mystery tea. Every group will also stand a chance to win prizes like trinkets before they leave.
The Secret Patio is located on the second floor of a shophouse.
With dreamy themes and cute decor, this latest pop-up in town is bound to add a fun spin to any dreary week. Standard tickets are available from $39.90, while tickets with live entertainment will be priced at $59.90. Tickets are already up for grabs so be sure to snag yours before they’re gone.
