National Day is coming, and while it may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of celebrating the nation’s 58th birthday, The Centrepoint and tokidoki will be having a unique collaboration from 4th August to 3rd September 2023. Look forward to an adorable tokidoki Play Area as well as exclusive Singapore-themed designs.
On top of that, you’ll get to show some support and appreciation for our local art scene through a display of nostalgia-inducing miniature models as well as fine arts by homegrown artists. To top it all off, there’ll be goodies such as tokidoki tote bags, stickers, and mall rewards up for grabs. Here’s everything you’d need to know about the event.
The tokidoki Play Area will be taking place from 4th-21st August 2023 at The Centrepoint’s Level 1 Atrium. Make sure to swing by if you don’t want to miss this special collab and the chance to nab cute tokidoki freebies and shopping rewards.
For some fun and games that’ll delight your inner child, spend a minimum of $30 at The Centrepoint to redeem a tokidoki play pass that grants you admission to the tokidoki Play Area.
tokidoiki play pass and activity booklet.
You’ll also get an activity book, and all you have to do is complete the activities within to redeem a pop pin and limited edition tokidoki sticker.
Activities include Spot The Difference and Fill In The Blanks.
It’ll be fastest players first, as prizes are only limited to the first 500 shoppers who complete their activity book, or while stocks last.
The Play Area is segmented into 4 different tokidoki Worlds, each with their own aesthetic – meet Donutella, Unicorno, Cactus Friends, and Moofia. Once you’re done with all the activities and have already redeemed your prizes, make sure to take some pictures at the photo stations for the memories.
Besides being a cute way to add a burst of colour to your outfit, this tokidoki tote bag is also a practical way to carry all your shopping. To redeem this exclusive freebie that’ll have all diehard tokidoki fans green with envy, you’ll need to spend $180 at The Centrepoint. Do note that the tote bag is limited to the first 800 eligible shoppers only, or while stocks last.
To earn even more perks, we recommend downloading the FRx app – AKA the Frasers Experience App – which will also be useful at other malls under Frasers Property such as Hougang Mall, Tiong Bahru Plaza, and Waterway Point.
As part of The Centrepoint’s National Day festivities, you’ll get to clock double the amount of FRx Points as long as you hit a minimum spend of $10 using GrabPay via the FRx app. If you’re curious, FRx Points can be used to redeem gift cards and e-deals on the FRx Rewards Catalogue.
Speaking of gift cards, redeem a $5 FRx Gift Card when you spend a minimum of $50 using GrabPay via the FRx app. Yup, you can use the app to conveniently make payment, and score both FRx Points as well as GrabReward Points while you’re at it.
It’s not every day that you get to see exclusive Singapore-themed tokidoki designs. Here’s a challenge for you: try to spot all 8 designs hidden within the Art Gallery Display from 4th-21st August 2023.

Aside from the tokidoki standees, another thing to look forward to is Wilfred Cheah’s “Trash to Treasure” miniature artwork, which you might have seen trending on social media – and for good reason.

His mini recreations of iconic local sights such as provision shops, hawker stalls, and even the nostalgic dragon playground are all handcrafted in intricate detail, and made with recycled materials such as paper, cardboard, and plastic bottles.

After marvelling at the miniatures, head over to the ARTualize Gallery – a showcase of local artists and their esteemed pieces. The lineup includes Low Hai Hong, known for his oil paintings, and Wong Hai, who specialises in plein-air painting – AKA the practice of painting in the great outdoors.
Here’s your opportunity to see Singapore through the lens of our local artists, and admire their work up close in this dedicated SG58 exhibition. In the spirit of National Day and if you’d like to #SupportLocal, feel free to purchase some art pieces from the local artists onsite. The showcase of miniatures and local artists’ pieces will take place from 22nd August to 3rd September 2023.
There’ll also be a pop-up retail corner where you can pick up tokidoki merch.
Congrats on making it to the end of the article, because we have a surprise for you. TSL readers only need to spend a minimum of $80 and present up to 3 receipts at the Level 3 Customer Service counter to redeem the limited edition tokidoki tote bag, as opposed to $180 for regular shoppers. There are only 60 tote bags in stock for this TSL promo, so be quick.
You’ll need to be an FRx member to redeem it, and you can combine up to 3 same-day transactions, all from The Centrepoint. Redemptions are limited to 1 per FRx member per day, and will be available on a first come, first served basis while stocks last.
There’s a myriad of things for you to do at The Centrepoint’s National Day event – be it appreciating art, having fun at the tokidoki Play Area activities and games, or simply collecting as many rewards and freebies as you can. And if you think about it, isn’t that the most quintessentially Singaporean way to celebrate SG58?
