Going shopping in Singapore can sometimes feel like training for the Olympics, especially when you find yourself navigating the maze-like malls down Orchard Road for hours. That’s why smaller retail spaces like Stellar@TE2 exist so you can be in and out in 15 minutes with exactly what you need.
With 20 stores and a slew of grand opening discounts, this Japanese-style underground mall in Woodlands MRT is about to make things dangerous for your wallet. Here are all the deets:
Shops within train stations aren’t exactly new in Singapore. However, at Stellar@TE2, you’ll find convenience stores, restaurants, beauty parlours, and even a co-working space built right above the train tracks, inside the ticket gates.
Hailing from Japan, this in-station Ekinaka shopping concept is all about making your life easier. It provides a new source of convenience by strategically placing 20 essential stores on your path to the train platforms. That way, you won’t have to travel far for things like breakfast and BBT.
As with most Japanese-themed shops, expect to see minimalist wood and white Muji-styled decor at Stellar@TE2.
We tend to avoid hitting up a new establishment the days following its grand opening to avoid the masses. Unless it’s offering a slew of sick discounts, then we’d be there with bells on.
If you consider yourself to be a discerning foodie, then swing by Stellar@TE2 asap to score 50% off a second cup of Cocolemon drinks and a box of 4 cream puffs for $5 (U.P. $5.30) at On’Lee Artisan Bakery.
For some serious self-care, try the range of discounted massages at Han Dian TCM to relieve body aches. Or, treat your locks to an organic hair colouring session at Organic Express Hair Color Lab for only $49 (U.P. $99). There’ll also be free hair products (worth $68) up for grabs.
Full list of grand opening promotions.
While you’re there, watch out for the crowd at cult favourites like Killiney Kopitiam, KOI, and Swee Heng Bakery.
Besides food stalls and restaurants, other places to bookmark include Cheers convenience store, Ace Signature mini-mart, Nail Palace, Advanced Dental, and Fresenius Kidney Care Woodlands Clinic. There’s also a co-working space that’ll be revealed soon.
On the serene surface, Woodlands is thick with HDB blocks, playgrounds, and parks. But go beneath the ground and you’ll find a whole different world of buzzing web-like train tracks running parallel to strip malls like Stellar@TE2.
Swing by between now and 31st July to go on a Scavenger Hunt and score up to $300. All you need to do is download the WINK+ app to scan the QR codes around the mall and collect your digital coins.
Those who don’t live in the vicinity can look forward to similar shopping outlets opening soon along the Thomson-East Coast line.
