STARLUX Airlines Has Flights From SG To Taiwan From $380, With Michelin Meals & Ergonomic Seats

Taiwanese carrier, STARLUX Airlines

Dreaming of the gorgeous mountain homestays in Taiwan? Or a fun 5D4N Taiwan road trip with your besties? Same. If a much-needed holiday to Taiwan is in your calendar, we’re here to share about the Taiwanese airline, STARLUX Airlines, for your upcoming trip.

This full-service carrier was launched in 2020, featuring quality in-flight meals and ergonomic seats that’ll make your journey comfortable and enjoyable. Here’s everything you need to know about the airline:

Relax in ergonomic seats & private “rooms”

Sitting on a rock-hard seat for hours on end can do some damage to your booty. If only we could bring our ergonomic chairs from home for the flight, right? Consider your wishes answered by STARLUX Airlines, as they have specially constructed ergonomic seats for the Economy and Premium Economy Class.

Recline in comfort with the adjustable headrest – you no longer need to painfully bend your neck for the best sitting position. This also means you can save space on your carry-on baggage since you won’t need a fluffy neck pillow for the flight.

If you’ve been blessed with long legs or a wider frame, know that the seats have also been built with plenty of space for each passenger to chill on. None of that awkward sorry-I-touched-your-leg situation with the stranger next door. Phew.

For First and Business Class passengers, you’ll also have extra privacy thanks to the added seat doors. When it’s time for a nap, simply close your seat door and you’ll be undisturbed. Feel free to snooze with your mouths wide open, drool and all. There will be no judging eyes.

You might notice that the aircrafts don’t smell of stinky feet and spilled food. This is thanks to the in-flight fragrance incepted in each cabin, with scents including pine needles and sandalwood.

Indulge in Michelin-rated meals in-flight

It’s a bit of a faff to bring your own food on board, but some of us still do it because we’ve heard horror stories about gross airplane food. Well, thank your lucky stars as STARLUX Airlines serves delectable Michelin-rated meals on all flights.

These dishes have been created in collaboration with Michelin-rated restaurants from Taiwan. Those flying to the U.S. from Taipei via First or Business Class can opt for the Clear Broth Beef Noodle Soup for something hearty, or Taiwanese-inspired French dishes like the HUTONG Barbeque U.S. Beef Belly Donburi for something unique. You can even go for the fancy Wagyu Bo Luo Bao with Black Truffle Butter – yes, that’s right, there’s Wagyu beef in this course.

Their beverage selection is not to be missed either. Bubble tea lovers who are flying via First or Business Class, know that there are Boba Tea Lattes served onboard. The pearls have just the right amount of chewiness and are soaked in fragrant Assam black tea jam.

If that’s not enough to quench your thirst, consider getting an artisan cocktail or two. These drinks have been created by a Taiwanese mixologist, combining local Taiwanese vegetables and fruits in his drinks. Before you green-haters cringe, give his signature drinks like the Cosmo 2.0 a try. You can thank us later.

These meals can be pre-ordered before your flight so the kiasu Singaporean “auntie” in you can be satisfied. Jokes aside, you can save time by selecting your meals prior to flying on the STARLUX Airlines website. This includes Michelin-rated meals and any specific dietary or religious meal.

While you’re pre-selecting your meal and waiting to board your flight, consider paying a visit to the STARLUX Airlines GALACTIC Lounge in Taipei Taoyuan Terminal 2. The train-inspired lounge is available for all First and Business Class passengers, featuring a buffet table with a smorgasbord of yummy dishes.
