The annual renditions of New Year’s Eve countdowns are something that we all look forward to each year. To make this year’s celebration one for the books, there’ll be a goldmine of performances and a theatrical mega fireworks show awaiting you at The Float at Marina Bay on 31st December 2019.
Back for its 2nd year, Star Island Singapore Countdown Edition 2019-2020 offers an action-packed line-up that includes space-themed performances with lasers and drones, a food village, and a DJ set – all for 1 night only.
Here are some highlights you won’t want to miss:
Star Island will usher in the new year with 2019: A Space Odyssey, a spectacular countdown show that’s unlike a typical countdown party.

The entire live performance runs for 90 minutes and goes through 6 chapters of futuristic space themes that end with a Grand Finale at midnight. Forget those basic fireworks you see on TV – you’ll be awed by Japanese artisan fireworks that are sequenced with various patterns and colour changes.
Each theme comes with their own specially created soundtrack that’s played through surround sound speakers, so you’ll be completely immersed in the show.
P.S. We don’t use the word ‘futuristic’ lightly – the musical sequences will be packed with 500 drones hovering in formation above The Float, completely synched to the performance.
Renowned circus performers and Olympians

The show will also have international circus performers and Olympians on stage as they showcase intense tricks like fire-twirling throughout the performance.

You’ll also receive an LED wristband that goes hand-in-hand with the stage performance. As it changes patterns according to the beat of the performance, it’ll be like you are part of the show as well.

For those who don’t want to miss out on partying throughout the last night of 2019, there’ll also be a live DJ to set the mood for the evening.

No festival is truly complete without some delish bites, especially since good food = good mood. Before the show kicks off, you’ll get to bask in the festive ambience from 5PM onwards as you browse through the stretch of booths at the Star Village to fill up on tasty food from brands like Lobster Bay. There’ll also be booths selling festival staples like nacho chips, onion rings, and even maple syrup popcorn chicken.

The entertainment zones are entirely family-friendly and welcome all ages to join in the fun before the countdown show begins. Even the kiddos can get hyped with an inflatable ball pit, which will keep ‘em occupied throughout the evening.
