Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow – but Singapore isn’t letting it snow the last time we checked. Don’t be disappointed, though – there are places on the island we can find respite from our sweltering 34°C weather. Amongst the hidden gems in Jurong lies a fun lil’ place, Snow City, where you can experience a winter wonderland all year round.
Located within Science Centre Singapore, the attraction is practically a large snowy playground with slides, bumper cars, and even a shooting arena both kids and adults can enjoy.

As you step into Snow City’s snow chamber, you’re instantly hit with a cold gust of wind. That’s right – a sub-zero environment in Singapore. Your attention probably then turns to the huge 60m-long snowslide, that’s about 3 storeys high.
Simply sit on a tube to slide down and, yes – you can go as many times as you want.
If you’re afraid of heights, just have a snowball fight near the icy playgrounds and chilly igloos.
But this is only the tip of the iceberg. Snow City’s got more fun and definitely more snow in store for you.
When you purchase a snow play ticket, admission to Singapore’s first Ice Hotel Gallery is automatically included, so don’t forget to pop by before or after.
Everything here is literally made out of ice. With 5 themed installation zones to explore, you’ll have a ton of ice sculptures to snap pictures with. Stare in awe at a life-sized mermaid, a throne, and Singapore’s iconic skyline sculpted from ice.
Adults, you’ve got an extra incentive to pay a visit – there’s an ice bar where you can enjoy a craft beer or two. Forget asking for ice refills anymore since your drinks are served in an ice glass.
This isn’t like your typical bumper car ride at Timezone Jurong Point. As the name “Drift on Ice” suggests, 2 passengers will get to manoeuvre the bumper car for 5 minutes, literally drifting on ice while crashing into other riders. Sounds fun, right?
Children who want to try this activity must be above 90cm, and those below 1.2m need to be accompanied by an adult.
Book a snow play session package with 1 bumper car ride.

Once you’re satisfied freezing your butt off in the snow chambers, warm up your body at The Cliff, located just outside Snow City. The Cliff offers 10 climbing lanes of varying difficulties, so if you’re a noob at climbing, just pick the easiest path.
Since 20 climbers are allowed to participate at once, maybe have a friendly competition among yourselves to add a little spice. If you wanna build strong bonds instead, opt for one of the multiple team building activities available too.
Although Snow City’s Winter Shooting Arena has permanently shuttered, they’ve got yet another option when you’d like to pit your shooting skills to the test. Enter the new Snowscape Shooting Arena – it’s an outdoors facility where visitors can try their hand at archery and paintball.

See if you have what it takes to become the next Hawkeye or Legolas by taking part in some Soft Archery ($12), where you get to draw back bows and unleash a volley of arrows at stationary target boards. For those looking to relive their BMT days, go for the RB Falling Plate shooting experience ($12); this one will have you wielding paintball launchers to gun down metal plates that fall upon impact.

If that’s not enough, gear up for their RB Counter Strike activity ($52). Duck for cover as you engage in full-on gun fights with your friends in the facility’s rugged paintball course. If you’re worried about being tagged, don’t worry; you’ll be wearing protective vests, so the impact of the pellets shouldn’t hurt too much.
Since winter is not here to stay – in Singapore at least – head down to Snow City to get your dose of winter experience. It’s fun for kids and adults – the place is filled to the brim with activities for everyone. Plus, it’s just a 10-minute walk away from Jurong East MRT.
