If you were around the Harbourfront or Sentosa area recently, you might’ve noticed that the cable car cabins overhead have gotten a makeover. We’re happy to report that Singapore Cable Car has Pokémon-themed cable cars that have been decked out in a festive theme from now till 31st December 2023.
If you haven’t taken a cable car for quite some time, here are some good reasons to relive your childhood memories. From photo ops to merch straight from Japan, the entire experience will have Pokémon fans giddy with excitement.

The shape of the cabin is perfect for it to be transformed into a Pokéball – and you’ll finally get to experience what it’s like when a Pokémon gets caught. Okay not really, but you’ll be excited to see which themed cabin you get when you hop on.

That’s because each cabin is designed to look like a Poké Ball. And not just the regular red and white ones either. Depending on your luck, you could be hopping on board a red and blue Great Ball, black and yellow Ultra Ball, pink and purple Master Ball, and even an all-pink Love Ball.

And once inside, you’re treated to Christmas-themed decor featuring fan-favourite Pokémon like Pikachu, Snorlax, Yamper, and Pawmi donned in Santa hats and scarves.

True Pokémon enthusiasts will know that Ash’s motto is to catch ‘em all, so are you really going to leave without getting to experience all of the themed cabins? We didn’t think so.

The fun doesn’t stop at the ride. Photo opps abound at both the Sentosa and Mount Faber stations. Check out the vintage cable cars that have also been dressed up for the holidays at Mount Faber Peak – feel free to step in for a pic or 2 for your social media. There’s also standees and a photowall featuring Charmander and Bulbasaur for fans of the original 151 Pokémon.
The gift shop is also stocked with some Pokémon collectibles that you may not be able to find at other stores in Singapore.
Unlike in-game, you can buy your own Masterball.
Some of these plushies and paraphernalia come straight from Japan, with tags included so you know it’s the real deal. It took a great deal of willpower to walk away empty-handed, but if you’ve got a Pokémon lover in your life, this would be a good chance to see what cool merch you can get your hands on.
For those who want to experience this absolutely adorable experience, tickets will be available over the counter or online from now till 31st December 2023 for a round-trip ride on the Mount Faber Line and Sentosa Line.
Alternatively, you could top up $10 for 1-day unlimited rides. That’ll give you the most chances to experience all the different themes they’ve got, which shouldn’t be too hard with the 67 pokécabins they have prepared.
Plus, those who get their tickets for the experience will receive a complimentary Pokémon-themed sun visor. These are in very limited quantities so book now to get yours.
