If it isn’t clear enough by now, us Singaporeans love light installations, and any excuse to be a tourist in our own city. Bonus points if the event’s free, and takes place after hours so that we can avoid the heat. If you resonate with this, you’ll be happy to hear about Singapore Botanic Gardens’ limited-time exhibition EnlighTEN, taking place from now till 10th August 2025.

EnlighTEN is part of Singapore Botanic Gardens’ Heritage Festival, a free event with over 20 activities for the public to enjoy, the majority of which took place between 19th and 27th July 2025. EnlighTEN is the last remaining activity you can still go for, so be sure to head down before it closes on 10th August.
Here, visitors will get to walk through installations stretching from Tanglin Gate at the garden’s main entrance, all the way to Palm Court near the Nassim Visitor Services Centre. The displays will be up from 7.30pm-10pm daily.
EnlighTEN’s installations are spread across 5 areas: Tanglin Gate, Swan Lake, Bandstand, Clock Tower @ Orchid Plaza, and Palm Court. Of the 5 installations, 2 of them – at Tanglin Gate and Swan Lake – are light shows, set to music pieces composed by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Here’s what you can expect at each stop:

First up, Tanglin Gate. Titled First Light, the light show here features dancing floral projections that illuminates the garden’s main gate.

Further inside, visitors will get to watch the garden’s Swan Lake light up in a myriad of vibrant colours, in a 6-minute-long light show titled A Garden’s Reflection. The show will run at 20-minute intervals daily, at 7.30pm, 7.50pm, 8.10pm, 8.50pm, 9.10pm, 9.30pm, and 9.50pm.

Past the Swan Lake, you’ll be able to spot the Bandstand’s installation, Rain Tree Radiance, from a mile away. This photo-worthy spot was designed by the garden’s staff, and features a gazebo and its surrounding trees decked out in fairy and raindrop lights.

Next up, the Clock Tower @ Orchid Plaza looks straight out of a Harry Potter film. The installation, Time’s Quiet Pulse, features bright neon lights that travel through the whimsical clock tower and its surrounding trees.

At EnlighTEN’s final installation at Palm Court, titled Canopy of Wonder, visitors will get to end their day walking through a mini forest of trees, each lit up with colour-changing lights.
With National Day around the corner, it’s the perfect time to show your appreciation to our Little Red Dot by going on a mini excursion to SG’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, Singapore Botanic Gardens. What’s more, this gorgeous exhibition is family-friendly and completely free, so be sure to drag your entire fam along for a picturesque night out.
