The Taiwan-inspired Shilin Night Market first hit Singapore’s shores last year at Kranji and the BBT, street food snacks and bevy of accessories on offer instantly drew in the crowds. Those missing that experience will be glad to know that the event will still be going on… online, that is.
Over 2 weekends from 12th – 14th June and 19th – 21st June 2020, join Digital Shilin Singapore as they bring the fun online with 4 zones – Eat, Shop, Play and Fun. The online market is loaded with performances and prizes, virtual hangouts, and live streams of F&B and products that can be purchased and delivered straight to you.

If you’ve ever visited a similar market or festival, you’ll know that the colourful drinks, street snacks and whimsical desserts are some of the main highlights to expect. This June, these delicacies, including new BBT creations from Playmade such as Grape Yakult Black Oolong Milk Tea with Honey Pearls, braised pork bowls from Jiak by Jin Feng, special bundle sets from Tea Valley and Jewels Rock Sugar, as well as golden durian desserts from Golden Moments are just a click away.
Some F&B stores will be live-streaming a preview of their dishes for you to get a closer look at what’s up for sale before you order!

Partnering with Pickupp, you can order from your favourite local F&B stalls with islandwide delivery options through their mobile app or e-commerce platform, with rates starting from $4 depending on distance. You can also get your hands on pastries from ChiaTe Bakery, Ah-Tsung Shih or Yu Jan Chin shipped directly from Taiwan via iCarry that will be available on the EAT page.

Any night market trip wouldn’t be complete without picking up a couple of knick-knacks along the way. In this case, the goodies will be available to browse and purchase via the online platform, sent straight to your doorstep instead. With Petite Bar selling handcrafted statement earrings and Mori offering lifestyle wallets and notebooks, here’s your chance to also support local retailers.

For an engaging, interactive experience at home, the organisers have partnered with GOMO by Singtel to create “Stack-A-Mo” – a box-aligning, stacking game whereby the top 3 winners walk away with Adidas vouchers.
On top of that, there are Shilin Singapore-exclusive filters on social media you can play around with and challenge your friends to, such as “Finish the Song Lyric” on Instagram.

As for the entertainment lineup, regional acts like Marcus Lee, Nat Wu and duo The Freshman will serenade you through the screen. And besides that, Fill Your Guts by GOMO by Singtel will feature surprise guest, Xenia (@hotcheekylace) tasting and reacting to exotic GOMO bubble tea combinations.
You can also look forward to cooking shows by Aaron Wong from The Food Producer and Joey Pink from AHundred Ants as inspiration to help you prepare popular Taiwanese dishes at home. Jaime Teo from FLY Entertainment will also be streaming a home-based workout for you to follow, so you can enjoy the goodies you’ve ordered guilt-free.
Just because the market’s gone digital doesn’t mean that all the fun is gone. Digital Shilin Singapore 2020 is bringing together F&B vendors, retailers and performers across the region to ensure all the magic still happens at home. Better yet, you can experience it together from the comfort of your home as a family “outing”.
Save some money when you pay for your orders via Singtel Dash and the app’s virtual visa card, since new users can snag cashback deals – not to mention attractive promo codes as well.
Digital Shilin Singapore 2020 will be taking place from 3PM-11PM on 12th June, as well as 12PM-11PM on 13th -14th June and 19th -21st June, so mark your calendars for this unique experience.
