Science Centre Singapore is where many of us made core memories on school excursions. Most of us will probably remember marvelling at the giant Tesla coil, watching Einstein climb up and down that pole, and feeling like astronauts in the Omni-Theatre.
This National Day weekend, relive all that wonder as Science Centre Singapore celebrates SG60 with STEM Fiesta!, a 3-day celebration from 9th-11th August 2025. Expect everything from explosive science shows to hands-on DNA workshops, plus special SG60 deals at Escape@Science Centre, KidsSTOP, and Snow City. Plus, Singaporeans and PRs get free entry to both the Science Centre and the Omni-Theatre.
All weekend long, you can catch live science shows every hour. Whether you’re with the kiddos or elderly, we bet they’ll love the Spectacular Science Show and the Electrified Elements Light Show. Think dramatic experiments, glowing gases, and the kind of jaw-dropping demos that make science seriously cool. The first show starts at 10.30am and the last show at 3.30pm.
And if you haven’t experienced the Omni-Theatre, a futuristic 8K 3D digital dome theatre, here’s your chance. During STEM Fiesta!, Science Centre Singapore will be screening 4 immersive films – Star Dreaming, Animal Kingdom, Cities of the Future, and Kitz the Cat’s Secret of the Space Station – that will transport you across galaxies and into the future. The shows run from 10am to the last show at 5pm, so plan accordingly.
If hands-on activities are what you’re looking for, buckle up. Science Centre Singapore has lined up a whole buffet of fun workshops for both little explorers and the young at heart.
Budding scientists can swing by the Young Entomologist station to get up close and personal with insects. Peer through microscopes to see tiny critters in astonishing detail, and uncover their clever adaptations and life cycles. Over at the DNA Lab, you’ll get to try your hand at real experiments like DNA extraction and microscopy, amongst other fascinating activities.

When you’re ready for a break from the science labs, there’s plenty more to keep the energy up. The kids can bounce to their heart’s content on the giant 8m-tall indoor bouncy castle. Or, grab the whole fam and test your skills at classic carnival games with uniquely Singaporean twists. For instance, a kopitiam drinks version of cup-flipping, tossing iced gem biscuits into metal tins, and a ring toss but with Singapore Sling bottles.
After which, refuel with free-flow popcorn and cotton candy, or pick up a $6 coupon bundle that unlocks even more STEM-inspired fun and local eats like muah chee and laksa.
And while you’re there, it’s the perfect time to score some sweet SG60 deals. All visitors get 50% off KidsSTOP tickets and a $60 Snow City family bundle that covers an hour of frosty fun for 2 adults and 2 kids.
If you’ve been eyeing Escape@Science Centre, bookings are also 50% off for a limited time. We can’t think of a better time to gather your pals and embark on an escape room adventure – expect STEM-based puzzles and some next-level unique scenarios like breaking free from alien captivity.
Here’s a little something to remember your day out: a complimentary photo booth session to capture those happy memories. From 9th-11th August, head over to Escape@Science Centre and simply quote the phrase “The Smart Local” to the staff. You’ll get a special promo code to redeem your free session.
There’s one caveat: only the first 60 visitors each day will score this exclusive giveaway, so come early to secure your slot.
There you have it – free entry, live science shows, giant bouncy castles, and SG60 deals you won’t find anywhere else. If you’re after an affordable and enriching way to spend the long weekend, Science Centre Singapore has your plans sorted.
And if you’d rather skip the crowds at Marina Bay, this is your sign to round up the whole fam – grandparents included – and make new memories in Jurong. Celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday with a science-infused adventure that proves learning can be fun at STEM Fiesta!
