There’s A New Theme Park In JB With Sakura Photo Spots, ATV Rides & Tot-Friendly Zones

SBS Resort Permas in JB

If you frequent JB with your kiddos, chances are you’ve already been to LEGOLAND, if not once then multiple times before. But the next time your youngins pester you to bring them to a new theme park, we’ve found one that’s just 15 minutes from the JB checkpoint, with activities for the entire fam to enjoy.

SBS Resort Permas is a new amusement park that has quite the eclectic mix of activities to try out, from cherry blossom photo spots, to a giant bouncy castle, and even ATV rides. Basically, while the park’s overall theme is slightly vague, there’s probably something here for every age group.

How to get to SBS Resort Permas?

SBS Resort Permas is roughly a 15-minute drive from the JB checkpoint, but if you’re heading there via public transport, you can take the J21 bus from JB Sentral straight to Opp Jalan Permas Utara. From there, the theme park is an 11-minute walk away.

Good news – entry to SBS Resort Permas is completely free, so you can simply walk in and enjoy the photo spots without having to pay a fee. However, individual attractions are ticketed, starting from RM10 (~S$3.21). Here’s what you can expect at the park:

If your kids are fans of Jurassic World, they’ll love dino-spotting at SBS Resort’s Dino Park. The area costs RM12 (~S$3.86) to enter, and contains different species of life-like dinosaur animatronics, so visitors will get to interact with moving T-rexes and Brachiosaurs.

Meanwhile, those looking for pretty backdrops for the ‘Gram can head over to the Sakura restaurant, a steamboat and barbecue resto with towering displays of pink and white sakura overhead.

Inflatable castle & art zone for young ones

There are also a bunch of tot-friendly zones that’ll help your younger ones expel all their energy. Energetic kiddos can bounce around on a giant inflatable castle (RM25, ~S$8), or hone their artistic skills at an art zone (RM15, ~S$4.82) nearby.

BTW, the drawing area is decked with rows of easels and colouring sheets, so kids can look out for pictures of their fave cartoon characters to colour, from the Huntrix girls to Sanrio characters.

ATV rides & archery for adults

Aside from play areas for kids, adults are in for a fun time too at the ATV riding (RM38, ~S$12.21) and archery (RM15, ~S$4.82) zones.

The ATV cars look pretty legit, and you’ll get to rove through a muddy track with small humps along the way.

Dine at themed restaurants

Once you’re done exploring the park, be sure to stop for some yummy food at the several themed eateries at SBS Resort.

The restaurants here actually double as photo spots – on top of the aforementioned Sakura restaurant, check out Snow Grove Dessert, a laksa and dessert store with tropical-themed decor, or the cave-like Forest Cafe for western food.

Restaurants aside, there are also stalls like Cone & Crumbs for dessert, or Peaky Pizza for a quick bite.

Enjoy a mix of activities at SBS Resort Permas
