Most of us spend our weekends nua-ing at home, but with Marina Bay Sands’ Sands for Singapore Charity Festival, you can still get your much-needed downtime while raising funds for charity. It’s a 3-day event where you’ll be swaying along to live music, chowing down dishes from celebrity chef restaurants, and enjoying activities like art jamming.
From 24 to 26 August 2018, here’s what you can enjoy at the Festival:
Whether it’s the rhythmic thumps of 53A or the crooning tunes of HubbaBubbas, music will be drifting through the Festival grounds. There’ll be a lineup of solo musicians and local bands like Supersonic playing live so you can feel the energy all around the Marina Bay area.
There are also plenty of other activities to try: grab a paintbrush to join an art jamming sesh or gather your friends at the magnet photo booth – the photo printouts come stamped on a magnet.
It’s no secret that Marina Bay Sands is home to a host of celebrity chef and signature restaurants, but don’t expect any white tablecloths and maitre d’s at the Festival. Instead, restaurants like db Bistro & Oyster Bar and The Bird Southern Table & Bar have paired up with social enterprise Dignity Kitchen – a hawker training school for disabled and disadvantaged people – to feed us some good quality grub.
Look forward to db Bistro & Oyster Bar’s famed burgers like The Piggy Burger ($12) and “The Yankee” Cheeseburger ($12), or LAVO’s massive meatballs like Chicken Meatball ($12) and The Lavo Meatball ($12) – a mix of wagyu, veal, and Italian sausage. All meatballs are served with penne pasta, so you know it’s a full-blown meal.
The Bird will also be serving Chicken & Biscuits ($10), Pork Belly Bao ($12), and Churros ($6). Wash all that down with a few drinks from Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, where you can get Beer ($5), Red or White Wine ($5), and signature Cocktails (S$10).

All proceeds collected from the sale of food and drinks will be donated to Community Chest.
