There’ll Be A New Private Terminal & Lifestyle Hub At Changi Airport T2 Come Mid-2027

New private terminal at Changi Airport

Singaporeans are absolutely spoiled when it comes to our one and only international airport. Changi Airport is not called the world’s best airport for nothing, and it’s looking to widen the gap between itself and other world-class airports.

It plans to open a new private terminal and lifestyle hub in the near future, elevating the experience for both travellers and shoppers alike. From private suites to an amphitheatre, here’s the latest scoop on it.

What to know about Changi Airport’s new private terminal?

First things first: unlike the upcoming Terminal 5, which is slated to open in the mid-2030s, you can expect to waltz into the new private terminal at Changi Airport in mid-2027. The Changi Airport Group (CAG) are working on it as we speak, and they’ll be repurposing the former Commercially Important Persons (CIP) terminal site for the project.

As such, the private terminal will be located near the Hub & Spoke at the Southern end of Terminal 2. It’ll be jointly operated by CAG and the Plaza Premium Group, which also runs the Plaza Premium Lounge and Blossom Lounge airport lounges. As to what amenities one can find within the private terminal, although details are still up in the air, CAG has shed some light on what we can expect.

There’ll be a lounge and bar where travellers can get a pre-flight tipple, as well as private suites for weary souls to kick back and recharge at. Dining-wise, foodies will rejoice at the curated range of culinary experiences here, and those looking to host grand yet intimate get-togethers can do so at the versatile event space.

But that’s not all, because nearby, the Hub & Spoke amenities cluster will also be receiving a welcome upgrade. The expansion will bolster its range of dining, wellness, and retail options for not only travellers with flights to catch, but also locals looking to do some leisurely shopping.

While no information regarding when the expansion works will be completed, we can look forward to visiting a new amphitheatre, an open-air plaza, as well as new restaurants, wellness, and pet-friendly facilities. Moreover, the Hotel Indigo Changi Airport is also expected to open in T2 sometime in 2028, so don’t be too surprised to find crowds forming in the area.

Keep your eyes peeled for the new private terminal at Changi Airport

Thankfully, we’ve only got roughly a year’s worth of waiting to do before we can visit this new private terminal in person. With so many exciting upgrades lined up, it looks like Changi Airport has a foolproof plan to retain its status as the world’s best airport for years to come.
