With so many new things to do in Johor Bahru, we never run short of reasons to make another trip across the border. Whether you prefer to stay in the city itself or on the outskirts of town, here’s a rundown of the latest, best new hotels in JB to consider for your next trip.
From the newest luxury hotel in JB to space-themed capsule hotels, there are plenty of options to suit everyone’s preferences.
The Sheraton Hotel by Marriott is the newest 5-star hotel in JB that’s opening in October 2025. Located just 5 minutes from the Johor Checkpoint, it offers a luxurious stay within easy reach.
The Deluxe Suites start from RM620/night and include a king-sized bed with enough space for a rollaway bed, making them suitable for families of 3. For those willing to splurge, rooms with city skyline views and a daily breakfast buffet are available from RM720/night, which is about S$219.09—a little less than what most new hotels in Singapore would cost.
You can also take a short 10-minute drive to Danga Bay for a peaceful stroll along the beach to watch the sunset. Meanwhile, those who want to do some light shopping can head over to SKS City Mall, directly connected to the hotel.
Reservations are now accepted through their website for stays from October dates onwards.
