There’s A New Mandai Boardwalk With A Scenic Lookout Point & Views Of Upper Seletar Reservoir

Mandai Boardwalk at Mandai Wildlife Reserve

Think you’ve already explored all of Singapore’s great outdoors? Well, you’re in for a treat this year. Alongside the upcoming Rainforest Wild Asia and Mandai Rainforest Resort, Mandai Wildlife Reserve has just unveiled its brand new Mandai Boardwalk – a 3.3km walking trail that circles around River Wonders and Singapore Zoo.

The free-to-enter boardwalk is accessible from Mandai Wildlife East and an entrance next to River Wonders, and visitors can look forward to catching stunning sunrise and sunset views of the Upper Seletar Reservoir and Central Catchment Nature Reserve from here.

Mandai Boardwalk takes visitors through 5 themed stations and rest points, each thoughtfully constructed after the wildlife species that inhabit the area.

For instance, the Iora’s Nest lookout point is built with railings that resemble the Iora bird’s complex nest formations, while the Damselfly’s Wing rest station has vegetation planted to attract damselflies and dragonflies.

Of course, there are also IG-worthy spots like the Tree Frog’s Hangout, the perfect location to snap pics against the gorgeous backdrop of the reserve’s greenery.

Open from 7am to 7pm daily

The boardwalk is open from 7am to 7pm daily so as to not disturb the nocturnal animals in the area. But be sure to keep a lookout for critters along your hike, as the trail was actually built to attract biodiversity to the area, through enhancing the water-edge vegetation that it was constructed over.

Plus, with Mandai Boardwalk’s proximity to Singapore Zoo, we hear you might even be able to catch a glimpse of some zoo animals from afar.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the new Mandai Boardwalk

Do note that a full hike around the trail is estimated to take 70 minutes and last entries are at 6pm, so be sure to head down early if you’re looking to scale the entire boardwalk.
