And with how catchy K-pop songs are, we can’t help but dance along to them, even if we don’t know what the lyrics mean. So, we’ve compiled a list of studios that teach K-pop dance classes in Singapore so you can achieve your dreams of dancing just as well as your favourite group.
Classes typically start with a warm-up, including plenty of stretching, to improve flexibility and range of motion. After which, the instructors will then teach the choreography’s chorus step-by-step, allowing participants to get comfortable with the movements before combining them. Some instructors may even slow down the song initially before gradually increasing the tempo until dancers are ready for the original speed.
After a few rounds of practice, the class will typically finish off with a recording session in groups, where you’ll perform what you’ve learned. You can, however, choose to opt out of the filming if you don’t feel comfortable dancing in front of a crowd just yet.

Here are some tips to make the most out of your K-pop dance class in Singapore:
Outfit choice: Wear whatever that makes you feel comfortable. Whether it’s your favourite gym set or loose, baggy clothing, so long as they’re easy to move in, it’s a good outfit for dance class. You can also take inspiration from the K-pop idol group you’re covering and wear a similar outfit as your bias. Sometimes, looking the part can also make you feel more confident as you dance.
Study the choreo: Another small tip is to watch the reference video beforehand. The instructor typically announces which section of the choreography will be taught. By looking it up and reviewing it frequently, you may find it easier to recall the choreography and anticipate upcoming steps.
Wear kneepads or compression sleeves: From personal experience, we highly recommend wearing kneepads if the choreography includes any floor work or sharp drops. Some studios have hard floors, and these steps can put a lot of strain on your knees.
Kneepads or compression sleeves offer a protective layer, and can help cushion your knees from scraping the floor. Alternatively, you can also opt for compression sleeves, which provide better support and help prevent inflammation.
Under the guidance and tutelage of one of these dance studios, you’ll be on your way to K-pop stardom in no time.
