i Light Marina Bay is open

With the close of Singapore Biennale 2016, hipsters photography enthusiasts everywhere in Singapore have been looking for the next great IG hotspot to open up. Come 3 March, their wishes will be answered. If i Light Marina Bay rings a bell, you might have seen one of these angels on your social media feed last year:

Bad news: there won’t be any glowing angels this year
Good news: there are loads of other insta-worthy highlights for you to discover

i Light Marina Bay will be open from 3-26 March 2017, and here’s a quick teaser to get you excited.

Beneath all the glitter and dazzle, i Light Marina Bay is Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival, meaning there’s a green message behind each installation for you to uncover. 2017’s iteration of i Light Marina Bay is different from its previous 4 installations as there are now over 20 light installations and 3 main themed hubs: Art-Zoo, GastroBeats, and The Fantastical World of eco.me.

Art-Zoo is a paid exhibit with giant inflatable animals that will light up at night, including an inflatable giraffe in the centre with a maze to keep the younger ones occupied while GastroBeats is the part of the carnival with food, music, and drinks, perfect for stretching your legs after the ~2 hours you’ve spent exploring the festival.

These are the highlights of i Light Marina Bay you won’t want to miss:

The Moonflower exhibit, near the Promontory.

You can find this exhibit of glowing rubber bands near Uncle Ringo.

The “Northern Lights”  can be found at the Waterfront Promenade.

“Home” can also be found at the Waterfront Promenade.

Head over to  i Light Marina Bay before it takes over your IG feed

i Light Marina Bay is 10 minutes from City Hall MRT, and most installations are open from 730pm onwards. Wear comfortable clothing if you’re planning to head over after work/school – we foresee the Marina Bay area being crowded till the end of March!
