If you’ve been to the CBD recently, you might’ve already noticed a bunch of eye-catching light installations scattered around town. Yep, i Light Singapore 2025 is back at Marina Bay from 29th May to 21st June 2025, this time with artworks all the way at the Singapore River and Raffles Place as well. Here’s an overview of the 17 installations, and which ones we love most:
Table of Contents
i Light Singapore 2025 takes on the theme ‘To Gather’, which, in line with SG60, focuses on our togetherness as a nation. In total, there are 17 installations to walk through, each discussing topics like sustainability and the country’s future.
As always, the festival is free to enter, though there’ll be paid programmes like a $3 keychain making workshop you can opt to take part in. GastroBeats will also be making its return, with new F&B and retail stalls to keep visitors entertained on site at Bayfront. P.S. – pets are allowed here, so feel free to bring your fur friends along for a stroll round i Light Singapore.
i Light 2025 will have installations scattered around Marina Bay, South Beach, Singapore River, and Raffles Place. We began our tour at the main festival ground at Marina Bay, which has 12 installations to explore.
First up, Mozart. This artwork is stationed right in the middle of the Helix Steps, right outside The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. The first thing that caught our eyes here was the giant, colourful orb, which upon closer inspection, was something more of a deconstructed piano, with rainbow-lit steps around it that doubled as piano keys.
In a bid to show how disruption makes room for creativity, the “keys” light up and play music as they’re stepped on, so you’ll be able to compose unintentional masterpieces with strangers as y’all walk up and down both sides of the staircase.

A larger-than-life rendition of the paper doll chains we used to cut out as kids, this installation quite literally requires you to embrace the lit-up dolls in order to trigger a light reaction.
To get it to work, touch the palms of 2 dolls at once, and a light wave will pass through both figures. But for an even more impressive reaction, drag your pals here to connect the entire chain, and you’ll get to see it light up as a whole while playing tunes.

Location: Event Square
If you love neon signs, you’ll want to get your cameras out for this one. Urban Oracle features an illuminated sign hanging off a pontoon’s edge, which, against the gorgeous backdrop of the CBD cityscape, makes for a picture-perfect skyline photo op.
But what’s even cooler about this installation is that it’s semi-controllable. Here, there are 3 buttons you can press to switch up the AI-generated messages on the board.
Artist: Ultravioletto
Location: Pontoon near Red Dot Design Museum
Fantastic Planet – What’s That is the first of 3 installations in the “Fantastic Planet” series, which brings 3 giant “aliens” to Marina Bay. This one is posed in a semi-crouched position, with the humanoid creature’s gigantic head looking down on those who dare to stand beneath it.
As much as they make for fun photo ops, these artworks actually carry a darker meaning than you may expect. Inspired by a French movie of the same name, the alien inflatables mirror those in the film, scrutinising us humans as we destroy our earth.

Location: Mist Walk
Perched Spiderman-style on the rooftop of the Red Dot Design Museum, Fantastic Planet – Over is one you’ll have no trouble spotting, even from far away.

Perhaps the least intimidating of the 3, Fantastic Planet – Comfort features the giant humanoid creature in resting position.

Location: Waterfront Promenade
VJYourself! is one of the most unique interactive installations at i Light 2025, and probably the trippiest one too. Here, you’ll be able to watch yourself multiply into a kaleidoscope of you’s – disintegrating, spinning, and bouncing around the screen.
Artist: Playmodes Studio
Location: Entrance of Marina Bay Link Mall
“If we work in tandem, there’s no fight we cannot win”… may be famous lyrics from Defying Gravity, but it’s also extremely fitting for the installation In Tandem.
This cool art piece quite literally unifies the heartbeats of every visitor touching it, by syncing up everyone’s pulses to create a pulsating light show.
Artist: Lee Si Heidi, Rae Koh, Leela Rao
Location: Breeze Shelters
Like moths drawn to a flame, this burning bamboo field caught our eyes from a mile away. Sign is another fave of ours, and a sure-fire way to secure that perfect IG-worthy shot.
The flaming installation is made of bamboo poles wrapped with aluminium tape, all of which reflect the pulsating orange lights attached to the branches. The vibes are further completed by Campfyre @ Nomads, a “campfire ground” rest-stop nearby selling light bites and refreshments.
Artist: Vendel & de Wolf
Location: The Promontory at Marina Bay
Life indeed feels like a bed of roses when you’re walking through this cute installation. Take A Walk Through The Meadow With Me is definitely one of the most photogenic artworks at i Light 2025, and it’s made of motion-sensor flowers that light up as you walk around the field.
The installation aims to showcase the beauty of recycled materials, with each of the 300 flowers here being made of discarded items.
Artist: Megan Tan and Tan Shao Xuan
Location: Lawn beside NTUC building
Stop for a TV break at Elementary, an installation that explores how even the tiniest actions can cause big reactions.
Here, visitor’s movements are recorded and played real-time on the flat screen, accompanied by correspondingly changing shapes and static effects.

Location: Clifford Square
Piano Walk.

Piano Walk wasn’t ready yet on our visit, but this musical installation sounds like it’ll be a tonne of fun to interact with. Here, you’ll be able to compose melodies with strangers as you step on the installation’s larger-than-life piano keys.
Artist: Amigo & Amigo
Location: Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza
When you’re done touring the Bay area, head over to the Singapore River to check out 2 more installations. BTW, these have extended viewing periods till 20th July 2025, so you’ll have some extra time to enjoy them.
You’ll want to stop for a picture along Cavenagh Bridge, which has been transformed into the Bridge of 1,000 Dreams.
The glowing blue bridge has been decked to the nines with 1,000 bamboo sticks, each designed by different participants who’ve drawn and penned down their wishes for Singapore in glow-in-the-dark ink.
Artist: Studio Toer
Location: Cavenagh Bridge
Another trippy installation to strike a pose with, Reverse Waterfall is one of the coolest man-made digital waterfalls we’ve seen. This artwork is made with thousands of LED meteor tubes, each positioned like cascading water droplets. However, the light waves here pelt upwards instead of down, creating the cool illusion of an anti-gravity waterfall from afar.
Artist: UxU Studio
Location: UOB Plaza Facade
Featuring recycled inflatables decorated with vibrant graphics of flora and fauna, The Guardians is a pretty photo spot for nature lovers.
BTW, 6 of the inflatables feature wildlife found in SG, so you can try your hand at spotting local plants and animals.
Artist: Matthew Aberline and The Beautiful and Useful Studio
Location: Raffles Place Park
If you’re keen to travel a tad further, be sure to extend your stroll to South Beach, where you’ll find 2 installations.
This Is Not A Screen by National University of Singapore.

This Is Not A Screen tackles the subject of individual perception versus collective experiences, filtered through a screen. Here, visitors will get to interact with a dynamic display of recycled polarised screens, all of which reflect different images based on the angle they’re viewed from.

Saulux by SPLACES.STUDIO.

Last but not least, here’s another gorgeous motion-sensor piece to admire. Located in a dreamy spot by a pond, Saulux showcases a field of willow twigs that light up with every gust of wind.

Apart from exploring the installations, there are also a bunch of other activities to look out for at i Light 2025. For starters, stop by the AI-powered installation Cloud City: Built With AI, which allows you to generate a futuristic cityscape.
To live out your theatre kid dreams, sign up for the Silent Disco Parade ($35/ticket) on 20th June 2025, which will have you touring the installations while bopping to sick beats.

Or, if walking around the event is too much legwork, consider hopping on the i Light River Cruise Shuttle Service (from $6/pax), which will transport you between installation sites at Bayfront South, Clifford Pier, and Raffles Place.
Those who want peak installation views from the Singapore River can also opt to join Glow PAddle 2025 (from $30/pax) on 8th and 15th June 2025, a dragonboat expedition that’ll make its way around SG’s landmarks.

That’s not all – do also keep a lookout for wholesome events like the Design Your Own Meadow Memory ($3/pax) workshop, where you’ll get to design keychains from recycled scraps, and yoga class Sunset Silent Flow ($42/pax).

If you need to refuel your tummies mid-tour of the installations, you’ll be able to do so at Gastrobeats and Campfyre @ Nomads, located at Bayfront Event Space and The Promontory respectively.
There’ll be over 40 F&B stalls to choose from at this year’s Gastrobeats, selling everything from light bites like corndogs and lok lok sticks, to full-on meals like rice bowls and takeaway hot pot.
While you’re there, you can also check out Rewind, Replay, Remix: SG Edition, an interactive music installation with 3 zones that’ll take you through different eras of music, spanning from the 50s to 90s.

There’s also a diner-themed Solace Studios pop-up to snap mandatory photobooth pics with your friends.
Besides Gastrobeats, you’ll also be able to stop for quick refreshments at Campfyre @ Nomads. Here, you can sip on beer or a cup of tea whilst soaking up the campfire vibes near fire installation, Sign.
Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly activity to do during the June Holidays, or a romantic date spot at the CBD, i Light Singapore 2025 promises a fun time as you explore its line-up of captivating artworks. P.S. – be sure to check the weather before you head down!
