1. Goodwood Park Hotel

Goodwood Park Hotel is famous for their durian mooncakes, and this year, that delectable favourite has been kicked up a notch. Instead of using D24 durians in their mooncakes, they’re using Mao Shan Wang instead, kicking up the durian quality a notch.

Other interesting mooncakes up for grabs include their Dark Chocolate Crunchy Hazelnut snowskin mooncake ($38 for 2 pieces, $56 for 4 pieces) and the Gin Pineapple snowskin mooncake ($38 for 2 pieces, $56 for 4 pieces). And if you’re the kind who likes fruity flavours, they’ve got snowskin mooncakes filled with yuzu lychee, cempedak, and mango and pomelo.

Plus, their famous Black Thorn Durian snowskin mooncake ($54 for 2 pieces, $88 for 4 pieces) has made a comeback, and the creamy, intense bittersweet flesh packs one heck of a punch. They’re being made in limited quantities, so snap them up fast.

2. Royal China at Raffles Hotel

They’ve got traditional baked mooncakes with lotus paste ($34 for 2 pieces, $62 for 4 pieces), filled with egg yolks ($34 for 2 pieces, $62 for 4 pieces), and they even come in mini sizes (fr $34 for 4 pieces) for easy eating!

For snowskin mooncakes, they’ve got interesting flavours like blueberry with dried grapes ($34 for 4 pieces, $60 for 8 pieces), and green tea with honey walnut ($35 for 4 pieces, $64 for 8 pieces)! And if you can’t make up your mind about what flavours you want, they’ve got a box of assorted mooncakes ($35 for 4 pieces, $64 for 8 pieces) for you to sample to your heart’s content.

Aside from their salted egg mooncake and the traditional white lotus ($66 for 4 pieces) mooncakes, Ritz-Carlton is also offering delicious mini durian snowskin mooncakes (made from Mao Shan Wang durians, as well as an adorable assortment of delicious martini-inspired mooncakes. With flavours like lycheetini and coffeetini, this is one unique way to get a boozy kick.

In terms of baked mooncakes, aside from good old-fashioned white lotus paste (from $58 for 4 pieces), they’ve got flavours like pandan with salted green bean (from $60 for 4 pieces), and even one filled with gooey golden custard ($71 for 8 pieces)! Mmm.

And their snowskin mooncakes aren’t to be outdone – with flavours like pandan with gula melaka (from $60 for 4 pieces), and tangerine lemon with matcha red bean paste (from $60 for 4 pieces), it’s an exciting experience for the tastebuds.

Tuck into a Teochew Yam Paste with Single Yolk ($68 for 4 pieces) mooncake, or indulge in their award-winning Xin’s Signature Mini Egg Custard with Egg Yolk Mooncake ($58 for 6 pieces), which is salted egg encased in a beautiful custard.

They’ve got some unique flavours on the snowskin ones as well, with combinations like Black Sesame Lotus Seed Paste with Strawberry Praline Snowskin Mooncake ($56 for 6 pieces) mixing old and new. And if you’re a fan of tangy flavours, give their Passion Fruit Paste with Plum Snowskin Mooncake ($56 for 6 pieces) a shot – it’s refreshing and light, very different from your usual mooncakes.

For folks looking for healthy mooncake options, there are low-sugar options, like the Baked Mooncake with Macadamia Nuts and Low Sugar White Lotus Paste ($70 for 4 pieces) mooncake.

But if you’re looking to indulge, go for it, because their flavours are pretty wild. They’ve got a baked mooncake with azuki red bean and pine nuts ($70 for 4 pieces), as well as green tea snowskin mooncakes with red bean ($65 for 8 pieces), but the real show-stopper is their new Mini Snow Skin Salted Egg Custard with Manuka Honey Corn ($65 for 8 pieces) mooncake. Their Salted Caramel with Hazelnut Crunch mooncake ($9.50 for 1 piece, $68 for 8 pieces) is decadence encased in a delightful snowskin shell, but if you’re on the health-conscious side, the Blueberry with Vintage Hua Diao Wine ($9.50 for 1 piece, $68 for 8 pieces) mooncake combines the sweetness of blueberry with the tartness of wine, while being also low in sugar.

8. Grand Copthorne Waterfront

Grand Shanghai over at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel doesn’t serve up any exotic flavours or unique combinations – they go classic and true to traditional mooncake roots.

Aside from their white lotus ($52 for 4 pieces) mooncakes and yam paste ($52 for 4 pieces) mooncakes, their signature is the authentic Shanghainese-style Crispy Skin ($52 for 4 pieces) mooncakes, filled with red dates and full of delicious flavour. Shanghainese-style mooncakes are a rare sight in the Singapore mooncake scene, and true to their name, Grand Shanghai makes it a very grand treat indeed.
