First Look At The Harry Potter: Visions Of Magic – Chamber of Secrets, Butterbeer & Merch

Harry Potter: Visions Of Magic at Resorts World Sentosa

Whether you’re a Snape stan or not, we’re all united in our never-ending love for Harry Potter experiences in Singapore.

That being said, if you weren’t already aware of the upcoming interactive art experience, don’t worry, we won’t avada kadavra you over it. Though, we might imperius you to make your way to Resorts World Sentosa and ready your wands for a night of magic at Harry Potter: Visions of Magic starting 22nd November 2024 and running until further notice.

How much do the Harry Potter: Visions of Magic tickets cost?

Admission prices can vary a lot depending on which date you choose to visit. Prices start from $39/child and $49/adult for off-peak dates. Due to the popularity of the event, tickets are getting  booked out pretty fast so it’s a good idea to chope your preferred time slot ahead of time to avoid being disappointed.

Off-Peak Peak Super-Peak
Child (4-12 years old) $39 $49 $59
Adult (13 years old and above) $49 $59 $69

Booking fee costs $4.

What to expect at Harry Potter: Visions of Magic

There will be a whopping number of 10 immersive environments that are both interactive and create super cool photo-ops.

Plus, as an added bonus, 2 of these environments – The Chamber of Secrets and The Trap Door – are exclusive to Singapore. You’ll be able to give into all your delulu fantasies and live out the Hogwarts experience we all crave.

You’ll be given a wand prior to starting your journey. Now, this wand’s really important, as it enables you to interact with the different exhibitions. Look out for the swirly signs around each place – those indicate that the object is interactive. To activate the display, aim your wand at the symbol and watch the magic unfold.

The Knight Bus

You’ll start off your geeking-out experience with the Knight Bus – the iconic bus that Harry Potter considered a bigger threat than Voldemort himself. You’ll be able to witness the magical triple-decker bus and the furniture inside, while the background changes.

Have a seat on any bed – you’ll notice the strong vibrations coursing through the furniture, mimicking what it was actually like when Harry was zooming through the streets of London. Don’t worry, you won’t be losing your balance so you can still take your pics.

Grimmauld Place

Next, you’d venture into Grimmauld Place – the home of the beloved Sirius Black. Now now, swallow those sobs, Sirius wouldn’t want you to mourn him without taking pics first.  And if the lighting isn’t up to par, just remember, we’ve all got light and dark in us. Or, point your wands at the screens and you’ll be able to light up the place.

Ministries of Magic

Next comes the Ministries of Magic zone. As you step in, you’ll notice the projections on the surrounding walls depicting the various ministries across Paris, London, and New York. There’s also a lift on display which you can snap pictures with. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to step inside the lift. Looks like we’re staying in Singapore, for now.

The Hall of Prophecy

The Hall of Prophecy is your chance to get answers to questions like where will I be in 50 years? or what’s for dinner, later? Really depends on where your head’s at.

This zone’s also where you can snap a tonne of IG-worthy content. Look out for the orbs that have the swirl symbol on them – then point your wand. The orbs will start to glow, and the film’s characters will “speak” to you. So, don’t forget to record your videos with sound, so you can play them back and listen to iconic lines from the movies.

The Chamber of Secrets

Excitingly, The Chamber of Secrets zone is exclusive to Singapore. You’ll get to discover the underground lair that had Harry beefin’ with his future wifey, Ginny. Feel free to pick a fight with bae here as a sign of paying your respects.

Ready your cameras before you enter as the snakes adorned on the door will move as the door unlocks. Then, prepare your hearts as you step into a room full of hissing snakes. You’ll also be able to hear whispers of parseltongue, so you can sss sss back and flex your linguistic skills. Don’t worry, your friends will never know the difference.

Spot the basilisk fang.

Newt’s Menagerie

Calling all Hufflepuffs, it’s your time to shine. At Newt’s Menagerie, you’ll be able to witness the fantastic beasts we all love and adore. Nifflers and Grindylows are just a few of the magical creatures you’ll be able to witness through cool projections. Don’t forget to look up at the ceiling while you’re here – because Newt’s famed suitcase is hanging above, and you can use your wand to activate the display.

Knockturn Alley

In Knockturn Alley, you’ll be able to go through the eerie, shadowy places and uncover surprises. Fret not, you won’t be jumped by Bellatrix and be cursed for eternity. Hopefully.

There’ll be speckles of magic here waiting for you. The interactive spots here are mainly located under the lamps, so don’t miss out on ‘em. Although the shops here are closed for business, you’ll still be able to view the displays like the potion bottles and poison candles from the outside.

The Room of Requirement

The next room was reminiscent of how messy my room was. Any guesses as to which room I’m referring to?

At the Room of Requirement, you’ll witness towers of items that are both ordinary and magical. Before you judge the items, remember the room is all-knowing and only shows up when you aim your wands at certain items. These include the Golden Snitch, the Sorting Hat, and the Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw.

The Trap Door

You’ll find a room full of winged keys at the end of the door, so guess which one guards the Philosopher’s Stone.

The Trap Door is another Singapore-exclusive environment to explore. If you’re afraid of the dark, grab your pal’s hand as you navigate through this next zone. But don’t close your eyes and miss out on the magic though. Each wall is intricately detailed and makes for great photo-ops that will definitely spice up your feed. If you need a lil more light, use your wands to summon veins of light on the wall.

The Pensieve

A core memory for all Potterheads was the discovery of Snape’s lore which led to the iconic After all this time? Always. line. In The Pensieve, you’ll be able to enjoy an immersive 360-degree journey through the key moments from Harry’s story. So, ready your wands and get your tissue packets as you re-live the scenes we so adore.

With your wands, you can create strings of magic on the interactive walls, which will then be transported into the Pensieve orb. There’ll also be a short show at the end depicting Voldemort and Harry’s battle. So, ready your wands and get your tissue packets as you re-live the scenes we so adore.

Visit the retail shop for Harry Potter merch

You can wrap up your experience and head on over to the retail shop and get cool Harry Potter merch.

Spice up your outfit with sweaters and t-shirts from the 4 different Hogwarts Houses.

Then, complete your wizard look with a wand of your choice. Wands start from $70, and different characters’ wands are up for grabs. All the options looked uber cool, but our favourite was Harry’s wand as it featured a classic handle design.

Decorate your room with Hedwigs and Nifflers – not the real animals, of course. There are plushies for sale, and these are very, very soft – great to cuddle with on a rainy night.

Student or not, you’ll find use for these Hogwarts-themed notebooks. Maybe it’s to note down important lecture notes, or craft potential spells to use on your boss. Just kidding.

The glass cups make for great gifts, especially with the Christmas festivities coming up. Fill them up with booze, Polyjuice Potion, or Butterbeer – the choice is yours.

Speaking of Butterbeer, you can also purchase delicious Butterbeer and conclude your magical journey at the F&B stall.

There are macarons and cupcakes for sale too, and these have been decorated to represent the Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin houses.

How long do you need to spend there?

While there’s allocated time slots for entry, there’s no time limit for visitors so you can hang around as long as you want. The official recommended duration of visit is 60-90 minutes but if you’re there on a busy day, you’ll probably want to spend extra time playing around with interactive elements and getting cool shots with the decor.

Is it worth visiting Harry Potter: Visions of Magic?

For Potterheads, the answer is simple –  yes! If you’re a fan of the movies, it will be pretty awesome to see the film sets come to life and place yourself in places like the Chamber of Secrets and Room of Requirements. Plus, you’ll get to add to your collection of HP merch.

Those who aren’t too familiar with the series may find the ticket price a little steep and choose to skip this attraction. But we will say that the photo ops and experience is fun nonetheless.

Overall rating: As Potterheads, we give it a solid 7/10. P.S. Some of the rooms can be pretty small and dark so be sure to watch your steps.
