The GREAT Food Festival 2018 At RWS With Name Drop-Worthy Chefs & Pastry Workshops

The largest food festival in Singapore

Back for its second edition, The GREAT Food Festival (TGFF) is Singapore’s largest-scale food festival to date. Last year, there were galaxy cakes and ball pits. For 2018, they’re kicking things up a notch with Asia’s first Tanqueray Citrus Terrace, Rainbow VIP zones, a giant inflatable playground, and an array of other exclusives such as a mermaid Magnum and culinary creations by celebrity chefs.

From baking masterclasses and a nitrogen dessert bar to pop-up concept kitchens, here’s what you can look forward to at the festival running from 27th to 30th September at Resorts World Sentosa. We’re also giving out 5 pairs of passes, read more to find out how you can win!

1. Visit pop-up celebrity chef booths with dishes from $10

The Star Chef Arena is a dedicated zone within TGFF where celebrity chefs whip up scrumptious dishes for you to try. The illustrious line-up includes:

  • Cat Cora – the first ever female to be crowned Food Network’s Iron Chef
  • Sam Leong – beloved local culinary maestro who’s a familiar face on TV
  • Ian Kittichai – pioneer of Thai cuisine and judge on MasterChef Thailand

Prices here range from $10 to $20 and some highlights are the Gnocco di Fonduta al Tartufo (potato & beetroot “Gnocco” filled with cheese fondue) by Fratelli Trattoria, Chilli Crab with Sakura Ebi Spring Onion Pancake by TungLok Heen and Braised Kurobuta Pork Belly with Steamed Bun by Forest森. Click here to see the full list of star chef profiles and what dishes they’ll have on offer.

This year’s edition of TGFF also sees the debut of “concept kitchens”, where teams of renowned chefs collaborate to make mind-blowing food according to preset themes. Fans of pad thai and pasta rejoice, as Tastes of Siam and Festa Italiana are 2018’s chosen themes. Prepare your palate for some next-level Thai and Italian fare!

2. Indulge in Magnum’s exclusive “mermaid” flavour

Just when ice cream fans thought it couldn’t get any better than Magnum opening up their Pleasure Store on our sunny shores, Magnum is launching a special creation exclusively available at TGFF.

Named the Magnum Ocean Fantasy ($12), this one-of-a-kind whimsical delight is crafted with their quality white chocolate ice cream and adorned with premium toppings like edible pearls, silver glitter, and even a mermaid tail!

3. Pick up baking tips from a panel of experts, including the Topless Baker

Baking aficionados are in luck, TGFF is inviting a slew of experts from chef extraordinaires to online viral sensations to conduct masterclasses. Key guests include Matt Adlard (aka “Topless Baker”), Philip Khoury, and Andres Fatso, a baker from Sydney who took the world by storm with her soda bottle cakes.

5. Feel like a kid again on the inflatable playground

We all reach a point in our adolescence where we can no longer go on the neighbourhood playground’s swings, slide, and see-saw without feeling minutely embarrassed. TGFF knows our pain, and has installed a bright and colourful inflatable playground open to everybody, young and old, available for free!

Designed to let guests relax and enjoy the festival with childlike abandon, the fun zone also features other interactive elements along with cute eco-friendly characters from Hong Kong.

6. Have a blast indulging in smoking nitrogen drinks and desserts

If you have the cash to splash, an Ultimate Fan Pass (from $288) grants you entry to the highly Instagrammable rainbow VIP zone. Not only will you be able to sit back and relax while savouring the many gourmet creations, the vibrant OOTD shots will be the cause of envy for all your followers.
