Grab And Tinder Are Teaming Up To Help You Meet Other Singaporeans With Similar Interests

Grab + Tinder = Connecting people on rides

Walk into an MRT cabin or a ride-sharing car and try to spot someone who isn’t listening to music or engrossed in their phones, and is talking to the person beside them.

Studies by scientists from Finland and England show that we start losing friends when we’re 25 years old, and we need to take a more proactive role in making new friends whenever we can. These days, friends are easily found on apps like Grab (via GrabShare) and Tinder.

Grab and Tinder are collaborating through a campaign that’s rolling out on 19th May that allows you to broaden your horizons and meet people you normally wouldn’t cross paths with, including social media personalities. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Download Tinder to discover which social media personalities you stand a chance to ride with.
  2. Open your Grab app and book a ride using the Tinder icon () between 11am to 4pm on 19th May 2017.
  3. Enter your pick-up and drop off location.
  4. If you’re lucky, you’ll soon be sharing a ride with one of Singapore’s favourite personalities!

Personalities you can meet on 19 May

Ben Tang – YouTube Personality

Ben is a simple guy who has seen and experienced some of the biggest of things in life, but believes that it’s the little things that shine through simplicity that really makes his day.

Victoria Cheng – Food & Fitness Influencer

Fashion model and influencer Chloe is also a proud owner of 3 dogs, 2 tortoises and 1 parrot.

“Eating is my only exercise, there’s a secret though how I can still fit into that size 0 dress.”

Plus: Hang out 1-on-1 with them on 21st May

Other personlities you can meet include yoga instructor Yang Jiamin (@jyan.yoga), travel writer Brenda Ng (@brenwho), or model Brandon Teo (@brandyontherock).

It doesn’t all end there – there will be a hangout session* that awaits you as a follow-up on the 21st May Sunday. Whether it’s a Muay Thai session or even an exclusive F2F makeup tutorial, you will get to spend a whole day out with your new friend and learn a thing or two while you’re at it!

*Should you be lucky enough to land up with one of the personalities, you will be notified with the necessary terms and conditions before confirming the ride. Your ride (19th May) as well as hangout session (21st May) may be filmed

So the next time you take Grab, don’t open WhatsApp the moment your butt touches the seat – make conversation, and hopefully even a friend! Don’t be afraid to socialise because there are plenty of ways to interact with people than just clicking that blue ‘follow’ button on Instagram.

Download Tinder and Grab here to widen and keep widening your social circles.
