Geez, can you believe it’s been almost an entire decade since the last Toy Story film? It feels like just yesterday that we were all watching the first one, getting goosebumps as Buzz Lightyear proclaimed his legendary catchphrase, to infinity… and beyond!
And now the fourth sequel of this prominent series, Toy Story 4, is set to be in theatres this coming June. In light of this special occasion, Gardens by the Bay is transforming into a Toy Story carnival with its annual Children’s Festival.
From 15th to 30th June 2019, get ready to relive your childhood or have your kiddos go wild with carnival games, fun fringe activities, and light shows inspired by your favourite Toy Story characters.
Here’s what to look out for:
What’s a festival without carnival games amirite? Make sure to try your hand at game booths inspired by your favourite Toy Story characters such as Woody’s Coaster Rescue and Jessie’s Ring Capture.
Fellow star adventurers, get ready to help the heroic astronaut Buzz Lightyear requires your help! In this activity, young participants can hop into a self-driving car, buckle up, and rev up their engines for an electrifying race to help recharge Buzz.
Date: 15th – 30th June 2019
Time: 10AM-9PM
But if driving ain’t your thing and you prefer relying on your physical prowess to save the day, join the sassy shepherdess Bo Peep on an adventure to conquer a larger-than-life obstacle course.
Date: 15th – 30th June 2019
Time: 10AM-9PM
Keep your eyes peeled for a multi-hued marble running along a giant track at the grove every half an hour throughout the festival. It’s the first ever in Singapore and will weave around towering structures all inspired by Buzz, Woody, and Bo Peep.
Date: 15th – 30th June 2019
And check out these cute Buzz Lightyear and Woody bobblehead figures which you can purchase from a giant toy capsule machine right beside the Marble Run. If you’re lucky enough, you might receive a golden capsule which gives you the opportunity to launch the track.
Can’t do a festival without food. Get ready to board the “Impossible Foods” train and sample a range of carnival grub like burgers, pizza, and chili beef fries all made out of plant-based meat. It tastes exactly like the real deal, but better because you’ll be consuming more protein, fewer calories and zero cholesterol!
At the end of the day, don’t forget to catch a Toy Story 4-inspired Garden Rhapsody – Gardens by the Bay’s signature light and music show where the Supertrees will come alive with iridescent changing lights, set to a medley of music from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story movies.
Date: 15th – 30th June 2019
Time: 7.45PM, 8.45PM, 9.15PM
