Shaw Theatres Has Opened A New Outlet In Singapore & Is Giving Out Free Movie Tickets To Celebrate

Back in May, news broke that Shaw Theatres would be taking over the space once home to Cathay Cineplexes at Jem shopping mall in Jurong East. Fast forward a few months, and the new cinema is finally ready to welcome moviegoers. To celebrate the opening, Shaw Theatres Jem is giving away free movie tickets, so you can catch a flick without spending a cent.

When & where to redeem the free movie tickets?

By the time you’re reading this, the free movie tickets are already being given out at Shaw Theatres Jem. Head down soon, as 500 pairs of tickets are up for grabs daily from now till 11th November 2025, or while stocks last each day.

You’ll need to redeem them at the Shaw Theatres Jem box office counter from 9.30am onwards, so don’t rush to the self-service kiosks or try redeeming them online.

Here’s the lowdown:

The promotion is valid for any regular 2D movie showing at Shaw Theatres Jem on the same day.
Each customer can only redeem 1 pair of free tickets, and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Do note that the promo doesn’t apply to premium-priced films – this includes 3D, IMAX, film festivals, movie marathons, Hindi or Tamil films, and other special-themed screenings.
