If you haven’t already been to Universal Studios Japan, hold your horses before you book your ticket to Japan, ‘cause there’s a new exciting addition to check out. You can catch the opening of Donkey Kong Country in Super Nintendo World from 11th December 2024 and immerse yourself in the world of our fav video game.
Look out for exciting new rides, tonnes of photo-ops, and cool merch while you’re there. And try not to get all its-uh me, Mario when wandering around.
The current exchange rate is S$1 = ~¥115 as of 22nd November 2024.
You’ll find Donkey Kong Country right next to Mario’s world-themed area in Super Nintendo World. Do note, you’ll need to purchase an Area Timed Entry Ticket/Standby Entry Ticket to access Super Nintendo World. You can get the ticket through the Universal Studios Japan App (App Store | Google Play) or at the ticket kiosk in the park.

We’re starting off strong with the Mine-Cart Madness roller coaster, for those who have a need for speed.
If you’re a true fan, it’ll be easy for you to recognise the Golden Temple inside as you hurtle through to protect the Golden Banana from the Tiki Tak Tribe. And, when we say hurtling, we mean it – you’ll be getting blasted out of a barrel to kickstart the ride.
For a more interactive experience, the Power-Up Band Challenges will have you scurrying around the park looking for 3 keys to recover the stolen Golden Mushroom.
All of this leads up to an epic battle with Bowser Jr, our famed antagonist and thief-in-question.
You can collect giant letters using power-up bands (¥4,200) that link up to your phone that will also allow you to track your game progress.

If you’re feeling the munchies, you can head on over to Jungle Beat Shakes and get Donkey Kong-themed sweet treats, like DK Crush Sundae with Mug – Tropical Banana Flavour(¥2,000) and DK Crush Sundae – Tropical Banana Flavour (¥1,300).
