8 Best December Holiday Programmes To Get Children Off Screens, From Outdoor Survival Skills To Science Camps

Best December holiday programmes in Singapore

Believe it or not, we’re wrapping up 2025, and with that, the annual year-end holidays are here again, starting from 22nd November 2025. Before the holiday chaos hits, we’ve rounded up a bunch of December holiday programmes to keep the kids engaged and active, giving them a fun way to explore while giving you a little respite.

This year’s line-up includes exciting new additions, like the Southern Voyagers camp by NTUC First Campus Outdoor School, a 3-day island-hopping adventure where 9- to 12-year-olds can explore Singapore’s Southern Islands while learning survival and leadership skills.

Read on for the full list of programmes.

1. Teamwork & strategy camp for 4-9 year olds

Mighty Troopers

First on the list is Mighty Troopers, a beginner-level camp that’s split into 2 groups: Junior and Senior Troopers, respectively for 4-6 year-olds and 7-9 year-olds. This 1-day camp sees participants on a mission-based adventure to navigate the park, create a slingshot to defend their base, and finally take part in a simulated skirmish to save the day.

This camp is designed to nurture skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, strategy, and leadership, encouraging confidence and collaboration in kids through the camp. While Junior Troopers will have more collaborative play, Senior Troopers will embark on group missions where teamwork is essential. They can also expect more challenging and longer routes, along with more tactical decision-making at their version of the camp than their younger counterparts.

Dates: 24th Nov, 26th Dec 2025
Time: 9am-1pm
Location: Woodlands Waterfront Park
Cost: $130.80

With an instructor-child ratio of 1:8, you can rest assured that there’s sufficient supervision of your child at these camps. This camp has a greater focus on discovering Singapore’s native plants and what they can be used for, through interactive scavenger hunts and guided exploration.

Then, it culminates in a Grand Water Battle where troopers will have to put on their camo paint, pack their fieldpacks, and take part in either play-based water challenges or a full-scale water battle. Regardless, they’ll all learn outdoor survival skills, including map reading and animal safety.

Dates: 5th Dec, 26th Dec 2025
Time: 9am-1pm
Location: Admiralty Park
Cost: $130.80

Not only will they learn to sharpen their decision-making skills, they’ll also be taught improvisational first aid using foraged materials, and to think on their feet in unexpected situations. These include knowing how to tell between poisonous and helpful plants, and what they should do if they encounter wild animals. They will develop creative and problem-solving skills through collaborative teamwork on a child-led rescue mission, and traverse the forest terrain in a test of the skills and knowledge that’s been imparted to them.

NTUC First Campus Outdoor School

All of these camps are organised by NTUC First Campus Outdoor School – Singapore’s largest outdoor learning provider for children aged from 4 all the way to 12 years old. As the name suggests, they focus on outdoor programmes, specially designed to bring kids out of the schoolroom and into the natural world. Since 2019, they have engaged over 18,000 children.

Each camp is curated and thoughtfully planned around Singapore’s natural environment and urban settings, to encourage values including curiosity, responsibility, resilience and courage in its young participants. With our natural landscape shrinking, and global warming a reality more than a myth, the environmental stewardship that kids will learn at these camps is especially important.

Taking place outside the four walls of the classroom, children are taught, in a safe, controlled setting, essential life and survival skills. These include knot tying, basic first aid, shelter building, and even outdoor cooking – 100% practical, 0% fluff.

What’s more, NTUC members can get 15% off all camps, while TSL readers can enjoy an additional 10% off everything except 1-day camps with the code <TSL10>.
