Once upon a time, Daiso was a $2 shopping heaven. Although its price has increased, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t eagerly waiting for the first DAISO flagship store to open at Jurong Point come 25th May.
Spanning 14,891sqft, Southeast Asia’s biggest Daiso will be the first to carry a whopping 80,000 products across 3 different household and lifestyle brands: DAISO, Standard Products and Threeppy.
Take note: As of 1st May, DAISO goods are priced from $2.14. As for Standard Products and Threeppy, 70% of the wares will be sold at ¥300 (~S$6.21) and the rest vary in price. We took a peek at the new store and here’s what you can look forward to.
The Scandinavians might have started the minimalist interior design trend, but the Japanese are definitely killing it with Standard Products. Think neutral color palette, sleek design and clean aesthetics.
Here, you’ll find a wide variety of household items such as kitchenware, stationery and home decor. Things like knives and utensils are manufactured using premium Japanese steel from towns like Gifu and Nigata which are known for their craftsmanship.
The rest of the goodies like cups, bowls and plates emulate Muji vibes without the hefty price tag. Plus, they’re all stackable so you won’t have to worry about them taking up space. If you’ve been thinking of adding some minimalist touches to your home, this is it.
Besides home goods, other highlights at Standard Products include sturdy pencils, lightweight notebooks, fluffy Imabari towels and sustainable wood products like fire starters and phone stands.
If colourful household products in quirky geometric shapes are more your jam, right this way towards Threeppy.
Unlike the clean lines and natural textures at Standard Products, the shelves at Threeppy are packed with items in pastel shades of mint, pink and grey. Beyond the usual suspects like tableware and home goods, you can get jewellery, makeup and fashion accessories here.
Gentlemen, if you’d like to pick up gifts to score brownie points with your GF, head over to the aisles at Threeppy.
For 2 days only, from 25th-27th May, when you spend at least $30, you’ll score yourself a free chio tote bag made from recycled cotton.
But that’s not all. DAISO’s bestsellers like the magic melamine sponges and grease wipes will also come in bigger value packs so you needn’t run back for more as often.
The cult favourite Japanese discount store DAISO has been operating in 27 different locations around Singapore. But its biggest outlet is about to invade Jurong Point and things might get dangerous for your wallet.
Try to practise some self-control as you fill your baskets up with items from Standard Products, Threeppy and DAISO. We know you can do it.
