There are plenty of dog cafes in JB that house specific breeds from corgis to chow chows. Now, there’s a dachshund-only dog cafe, Dachshund & Friends, for those who have an affinity for the lovable sausage dogs.
Not only do you and your JB-tripping friends get to play with and feed the 7 dachshunds in the cafe, but you can also cop some custom-embroidered bandanas and make your own charm necklaces to take home as souvenirs, too. Here’s a peek into this dog cafe that you can check out the next time you’re visiting JB.

Cafe-hopping afternoons are made better when the cutest sausage dogs are running around you. At Dachshund & Friends in Mount Austin, you’ll meet 7 sweet dachshunds – Yuzu, Mirin, Natto, Miruku, Goma, Milu, Nori. While they are naturally friendly, you can tempt them over by buying some dog treats and dishing them out. Just be prepared to be swarmed with lots of love!
While they’re up for cuddles and pets, dachshunds have extremely gentle backs and spines, so you should not attempt to pick them up.

Entry to Dachshund & Friends also only costs RM28/hour (~S$9.10) on weekdays and RM32/hour (~S$10.40) on weekends. Each entry also includes a free drink of your choice from their menu, of which there are drinks like a Kuri Mont Blanc, Mirin Milk Tea, and Ginger Rooibos.
Their menu also has soups like Truffle Mushroom Soup and Miso Soup if you’re craving something brothy.

After you’ve given out all the pets you can give and tuckered the pups out, be sure to check out the gifts and merchandise that you can bring home for your own dogs.
They have dachshund-themed T-shirts, postcards, and trinkets up for grabs. For something with more of a personal touch, you can also customise a charm necklace for your dog, or grab a handmade bandana (from RM30 or ~S$9.78) embroidered with your pet’s name from Paw Pochi, a Malaysian bandana and bow shop.

Contrary to what many of us might have thought, “dachshund” is pronounced “daks-hund”, and not “dash-hund”. Admittedly, it is a word that can be hard to pronounce initially, and you don’t want to rock up to Dachshund & Friends saying their namesake dog the wrong way.
You could also just say “sausage dog” or “weiner dog” and everyone around you will get the gist.
Lovers of sausage dogs now have a Dachshund-dedicated dog cafe that’s just a 20-minute drive away from JB CIQ. And since it’s located in the hip Mount Austin enclave, you could spend a whole day in the neighbourhood and never have to worry about leaving, at least until it’s time to head back to the hotel.
Fair warning: Getting to Dachshund & Friends requires you to climb a flight of stairs, so it might not be the most accessible for those with accessibility concerns. Its location on Google Maps has also been said to be slightly off; just find Jugos Austin, and the dog cafe is right next to it.
Dachshund & Friends review: “A must-go spot for dog lovers! The staff are super patient and friendly, and the dogs are sooo cute and well-behaved. I really love the dogs here — each one has its own personality. The place is comfy, clean, and relaxing. The entrance fee even includes a drink! The yuzu soda and Ribena orange soda are really good.” – Vivian via Google
