Mention a night out at Clarke Quay, and the word “curfew” instantly vanishes from anyone’s vocabulary. While other food and beverage establishments roll their shutters and call it a day, the party people over in central Singapore are only just warming up.
And, you don’t even need to hold out till the weekends to let your hair down or pig out, the area is packed to the brim with late-night joints open every day of the week, with some only closing their doors at 5 AM in the morning! So round up your friends and office sai kang warriors, here are 10 supper and after-hour spots that’ll make up for all those hours wasted working OT:
Clockwise from top left: Signature Ocean Treasure Porridge ($48), Vietnamese Scallop and Prawn Skewers ($18), Mud Crab with Rice Vermicelli in Chicken Broth ($48), Penang Style Seafood Noodle with Lobster ($19.80)
Just the food stop to accommodate a group of friends for a satisfying after work supper sesh or a pre-drink feast, the newly opened Long Jiang Classic Noodle & Congee House serves up hearty yet affordable Chinese dishes with premium seafood ingredients in big portions that are great for parties of 3-4.
Be sure to try their Signature Ocean Treasures Porridge ($48), which is a treasure alright – just one scoop reveals a generous heap of dried scallop clams, live prawns, and crayfish so soft the meat falls off the shell all buried in a smooth, fragrant porridge.
Their Mud Crab with Rice Vermicelli in Chicken Broth ($48) is another dish that will warm you right up. It features a whole mud crab in a thicken chicken broth that exudes a heady aroma of XO. Do note that the portion will best serve 3-4 persons.
We recommend sticking with these two winners, but if you’ve still got stomach space to fill, then skip the appetisers and zoom in for the Penang Style Seafood Noodle with Lobster ($19.80). An elevated hybrid of our two hawker favourites – prawn noodles and Penang laksa, the broth is packed with flavour and boiled for hours with only the freshest prawn heads, lobster meat, and clams.
And contrasting their traditional Chinese menu is their drink menu. Treat yourself to a photogenic glass of their Popcorn Frappe ($6.80) only if you need a whole ton of sweet to offset all the savoury you’ll be consuming! Alternatively, go for their Chendol Frappe ($6.80), which is generously topped with red beans and sago and pays homage to the traditional dessert.

Not just any ordinary hot pot joint, Da Miao Hot Pot is one of the few establishments in town that serves up not only authentic Chengdu hot pot but traditions and entertainment as well.
P.S. Michelle Obama has visited Da Miao’s main branch in Chengdu, and has nothing but high praise for its cuisine.
If you’re undecided about which of their 5 soup bases to go for, we recommend the Da Miao Traditional Yuan Yuan Soup Pot ($20) which is a dual pot featuring a spicy mala soup on one side, and a light slow-cooked bone broth on the other.
On top of the usual suspect side dishes like fresh vegetables, meatballs, tofu skin, and noodle options, Da Miao prides itself in providing only premium cuts of imported Australian meat and specialises in traditional Sichuan delights like Black-Bull Layered Tripe, Duck Tongue, Squid Ink Noodles, and Braised Intestines.
Every hero dish needs a sidekick – making the hot pot incomplete without solid dipping sauces. Head over to the condiment bar and load up on everything from Sichuan peppercorns and Chengdu sliced chilli to their special cans of sesame oil. For a sweet finish, end the meal off with a traditional Chengdu dessert, the Red Sugar Rice Cake ($6), which tastes similar to sticks of deep-fried chewy rice cake.
The restaurant also has 2 performances a night – a 变脸 (masked face) dance, and a 长嘴壶茶艺 (long-spout kungfu tea) performance.

Ramen Keisuke Lobster King serves up one of the best lobster-based ramen broths in Singapore and remains uncontested till this day. The Lobster Broth Ramen with Rich Creamy Soup ($14.90) is a must-order for all ramen fanatics.
Rich, creamy and balanced, the broth is a result of 11 hours on the stove. And on top of your usual bamboo shoots, black fungus, tender char siu and a marinated egg, you’ll also find dumplings and prawn balls that’ll make up for the lack of actual lobster in there!
They’ve also got the spicy version of the dish – the Spicy Miso Lobster Broth Ramen ($15.90) that’s sure to make you break into a sweat. If you’re not a fan of overwhelming broths, opt for their clear soup option at $13.90.

When you ain’t got the time for a sit-down meal, kebabs at Shiraz Mazzeh are always a good idea. While most are quick to go for their beef kebabs, we recommend the overshadowed Chicken Shawarma ($10) and Lamb Shawarma ($12), which features thick carvings of glistening meat and a generous heap of vegetables, all wrapped a steaming flatbread jacket.

Think live music, a dance floor, unpasturised and unfiltered international beers on tap, and a whole lot of meat on the menu from a pork neck steak to a lamb shoulder rack – that’s the kind of night you can expect at The Pump Room.
Before you skip the entrees and zoom in on the mains, give their Assorted Savoury Cones ($12) a go. These cones of smoked salmon, shrimp, salsa and caviar are bound to add instant flair to your IG stories.
Mains wise, the highlight was definitely their Crispy Pork Knuckle for two ($38) – a tender whole portion of meat concealed by a crisp roasted exterior, served alongside a homemade beer-infused sauce sio bak lovers would absolutely die for.
The Sticky Date Pudding with Butterscotch Vanilla Ice-Cream ($12) – a home recipe of the lady boss herself was a definite show stopper leaving us licking the plate for every last drop of caramel.
While you’re free to order beer all the way until 4AM, the kitchen takes their last orders for mains at 10PM and light bites at 12AM on Fridays and Saturdays.

Promising good food, fun, and #goodvibes only all the way until 5 AM almost every night of the week, let Clarke Quay be your well-deserved release for any Monday blue or Humpday hill before the weekends hit.
This post was brought to you by Clarke Quay.
Here are all the best things to do this weekend in Singapore.
Just an hour away from KL!
Taichung is only an hour by High Speed Rail from Taipei or Taoyuan station.
No more stressing over what to get your loved ones for Christmas.
Gone are the days when family photoshoots used to be boring and extra formal.
Meet new-to-Singapore species as well.
