As a contact lens wearer, I’m faced with many tough decisions. Should today be a day to wear spectacles or contact lenses? Should I go with daily, monthly or even yearly lenses? But most importantly, should I spend my dollar on a brand I’m unfamiliar with?
Thankfully, for those of us who are not quite pleased with our current lenses yet are wary of trying something new, Puri Yves has a stress-free solution: try first, buy later. The contact lens brand is giving out free five-day trials for their daily disposable contact lenses, so you can see for yourself if they’re indeed a good fit. Here’s my review:
P.S. The brand even has 1-for-1 promotions for both daily and monthly contact lens boxes (limited to 4 boxes per customer).
Puri Yves lens comes with a visible blue-tint which is easy to spot. You may think it’s a minor difference, but if you’re practically blind without visual aids like me, having blue-tinted lenses make it so much easier to find your contact lenses if you drop them on the table-top.
My eyes usually get kinda bloodshot after wearing contacts for less than 8 hours, but not with Puri Yves lenses. Made up of 55% water, Puri Yves contact lenses lasted a whole day of work without drying my eyes out.
We all know that UV rays are bad in general, but few of us take precautions to shield our eyes from it, especially in Singapore where the sun is always out. Thankfully for us lazy folks, Puri Yves lenses offer UV protection so you don’t have to suffer from overexposure to Ultraviolet light emitted by the sun.
If you suffer from astigmatism, you’d typically expect to pay extra for a special prescription. But not if you buy Puri Yves lenses. Both the daily and monthly Puri Yves lenses are able to correct slight astigmatism and all without additional cost.
Singaporeans usually view eye tests as good-to-do, but not a must. Yet, getting a test before you get your contact lenses is necessary as lenses are in fact medical devices, and should be prescribed by licensed eye care professionals.
Thankfully, in case you’re worried about additional test costs, Puri Yves is offering a free “front of eye” health and prescription test for customers interested in their contact lenses – all the way from now till 28 February. And rest assured you’ll undergo a series of tests carried out by fully qualified optometrists.
Individuals who wear glasses will be familiar with this one – rest your chin on the chin rest and look into the hot air balloon image in the screen.
The optometrist will ask you about your family ocular history and medical history to assess your eye health more accurately.
It’s a detailed process but think of it as similar to a full body check-up – eye version. The guys behind PuriYves care so much about what goes on in your eyeballs that they’d conduct a thorough 30 to 45-minute test (worth $45) to check whether you’re at risk of infections or other potential eye problems, as well as to assess your suitability for wearing contacts.
Slit-lamp test. This checks the health of the front of your eyes.
And like doctors, these guys will also provide you with lots of useful information on how to care for your eyes, given your unique circumstances. First-time wearers will receive a complimentary care and wear training session to get you started. It’s worth every penny – oh wait – you’re not spending any!
Just book on their main website or WhatsApp 9645 5738 to redeem your free front of eye test and contact lens evaluation.
Since its launch in 2000, Singaporean brand Puri Yves has expanded to more than 60 optical retail outlets islandwide. Their FDA-approved lenses are sold in two types – daily and monthly wear lenses.
If you’re keen on trying it out, you’ll be able to obtain your very own Puri Yves contact lens 5-day trial here.
But if you’re interested to purchase, Puri Yves currently has a 1-for-1 promotion for both their daily and monthly wear lenses at the two locations stated below.
Their dailies are sold for $45 each, but with this promotion, you’d only be paying $45 for 2 boxes. That’s barely $22.50 per box of contacts – you’d be stretching out every dollar. You can redeem your free eye test and free trial lenses at two convenient locations:
