Mid-autumn season’s that time of the year where we walk around with a lantern in one hand, and a bag of mooncake to take home in the other. And there’s no place more apt to celebrate than Chinatown itself.
This year, Chinatown Point will be a one-stop location to celebrate the occasion with its Festivities under the Moonlight event that will keep you busy this mid-autumn season. From 16th August – 15th September 2019, win prizes just by spending $88, and craft your own lanterns and adorable pompom Jade Rabbits.
Here’s everything to look out for:

Living luxuriously is the dream, but there’s no denying it can take its toll on our bank account. Which is why the ultimate #treatyoself moments are when they’re free!
Take your festivities to the next level by trying your luck at the Festive Lucky Draw. Simply spend a total of $88 to enter the lucky draw, and you might walk away with the top prize of an OSIM uDiva 2 Massage Sofa worth $3,299.
Apart from that, you might also snag a 2D1N Deluxe Room stay for two at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel worth $850. It comes complete with a gourmet buffet breakfast for 2 people – perfect for a short, quiet getaway in style with your loved one.

Other prizes you can win include a Michael Kors Mercer Large Satchel worth $775, an OSIM uStiletto Leg Massager worth $599, and $300 worth of vouchers and hampers.
Most of us would have had the experience of spending copious amounts of money at a claw machine just to get the prize of our choice. This time, instead of your typical soft toys, try your hand at winning prizes like an OSIM uGalaxy Eye Massager worth $299, baked mooncakes from PrimaDéli as well as various gift vouchers.

Simply fork out $168 at any of the shops around the mall to earn a token to play at the claw machine. You’re limited to 1 redemption per day, so make this chance count!
The mid-autumn season is nothing without mooncakes, and you can feast on as many as you want at the Mid-Autumn Fair. They’ve also got other treats like tea and lanterns from a series of other brands that include The Capitol Kempinski Hotel and Hua Ting Restaurant so loosen up your belts because it’s time for feastin’.

Let’s face it – the most advanced thing some of us can draw are stick people. But even so, we have to admit that there’s something fulfilling in making your very own piece of art from scratch.
If you prefer crafting something out, stop by the various Festive Craft Workshops instead. You can choose from making your own lantern, jade rabbit, or gel candle, which you can then take home and present proudly on your tabletop as a display piece.

Lantern making is an acquired skill, and you can get a first-hand view of its intricate work at the Lantern Painting Competition that’s happening in collaboration with Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng CCC. The participating young artists will be creating beautiful lanterns of various colours and patterns, which will be judged for a winner.

90’s babies would remember the badass actor Vincent Ng in old local dramas like Heartlanders and Heroes in Black. The way the man used his superior wushu skills to kick butt was super inspiring, and the memories have stuck with me up ‘til today.
Catch young wushu practitioners perform similar stunts at the Wushu Star Contest 2019. They’ll be wowing with exhilarating displays of the Chinese martial art, as a finale event during the actual mid-autumn weekend.
