If whodunnits always have you shouting “I knew it!” every time the murderer is revealed, then you’ll be glad to know the time to show off your Sherlock skills has come. MurderMystery.sg has an immersive Role-Playing Game (RPG) experience where you can solve a crime in 1970s Singapore.
Wannabe detectives, read on to find out more about the Changi Village Outdoor Murder Mystery RPG:
It won’t matter if you were zonked out during history class in school. Even if you have no idea what happened in the 1970s, the staff will fill you in on the setting. It’s a period of political unrest, since the British just withdrew their forces from Singapore.
With the background story set, it’s up to you to direct how events unfold in this role-playing game. Your only tool for the job is a map that will guide you to the different booths to conquer quests and unlock clues.
Now, you aren’t just any detective here. Players kickstart the game as lowly gang members, but will rise through the ranks as the game progresses.
As you advance, you’ll explore the streets of Changi Village, which are filled with food stalls. Perks are in store for you, though, as you can redeem nostalgic treats like kacang puteh.

Don’t be surprised if the street vendors act a little unusual. Although they’re actors, their job is to make you feel as though you’re in the 1970s with them.
Back then, businesses that catered to the British forces were at a loss and tensions were high. So forgive the actors if they’re curt as they react accordingly to your words, actions, and character – just like a true RPG experience.

Sherlock had Watson, and Jake Peralta had Amy Santiago. Likewise, you won’t be working alone in this murder mystery, so grab your friends to join you in solving the case together.
You’ll need a team of 6 to get started but if you’re lacking the numbers, MurderMystery.sg will group those of similar ages, shared interests, or professions together.

It’s not everyday you’ll get to experience what the 1970s were like. And it’s not just the actors that will pull you in with their performances. The murder mystery takes place outdoors in a re-creation of Changi Village back then. Come dressed in your best thrifted bell bottoms and midi skirts and be sure to take lots of snaps for your social feed.
This RPG will only be held over the upcoming Hari Raya Puasa and Labour Day weekends so make your reservations soon. As a bonus, signing up now will entitle you to up to 50% off per admission ticket.
