Christmas parties, dinners, and gift exchanges – they come fast as furious as Jingle Bells starts playing in all your shopping malls, and reds and greens start to deck the hallways. With Christmas less than a month away, you’ll soon find yourself getting busy with preparing for the festivities.
Don’t get caught with empty hands the next time you’re invited to a Christmas gathering – prepare your goodies in advance! Carlton Hotel’s 2017 cake collection is so unique that All You Want for Christmas will be their signature Christmas goodies.
On top of this list is Carlton’s newest addition – the Merry Berry Log Cake ($63/kg), which features a medley of chocolate, lime, raspberry and mango flavours that somehow complement each other seamlessly.
The whole cake is pretty and dusted in pink, resembling a raspberry snowfall. When you slice the cake open, you see a myriad of green, yellow and purple inside. The colours aren’t purely visual too – when you bite into the cake, there’s an interesting and balanced mix of chocolate and fruit, great for those who don’t like the usual heavy chocolate desserts.
Plus, get 15% off the Merry Berry Log Cake if you quote “CarltonxTSL” at Carlton Hotel’s Christmas lobby booth or on Carlton Hotel’s website upon checkout from now till 25 December 2017.
The Chocolate Hazelnut Panettone ($30/500g) brings the Christmas feels closer to us. Panettones aren’t super common in Singapore, but they’re a type of Italian type of sweet bread that’s typically prepared to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. Due to popular demand, the Chocolate Panettone is back in 2017, this time with the addition of chocolate hazelnut ganache and brandied cherries, further accentuating the chocolatey-ness of the cake.
The hazelnuts on top provide a satisfying extra crunch to the panettone.
If you’re one who opts for the safest option in preparation for parties and Christmas potlucks, go for the Classic Chocolate Log Cake ($60/kg), a decadent centerpiece that features moist sponge cake rolled up in dark chocolate cream and coated in hearty hazelnut praline cremeux.
Flame Valentino Log Cake
Or for a more unique option that you won’t find at other parties, get a Flame Valentino Log Cake ($63/kg). With its lemon zest frosting giving a citrus note to the cake and luscious red velvet sponge cake layered with cream cheese and sour cream on the inside, this cake is for those with a more exotic palate.
Homemade Chocolate Hazelnut and Traditional Panettone
Light and sweet, the Homemade Panettone ($30/500g) goes best with a sweet warm beverage like mulled wine. The traditional Italian Christmas bread is baked with generous servings of raisins and candied fruit.
If you prefer sweets, go for the buttery, fruit-filled Homemade Stollen ($30/500g), a rich festive dessert that goes well with a cup of hot tea or steaming hot chocolate. FYI: the fruit inside the loaf have been soaked in brandy for months to absorb the aroma of the liquor for a full burst of flavour.
If you just want a quick treat or to sample a logcake before bringing one home, start Christmas early with sliced log cakes, available only at Tuxedo from 12 – 23 December 2017. Priced at $8 per slice, select from the best-selling Classic Chocolate Log Cake or Flame Valentino Log Cake or the brand new Merry Berry Log Cake.
