Bugis Street has been synonymous with cheap tees, phone cases and the occasional questionable durian keychain for as long as most of us can remember. As of 25th July 2026, Level 2 has gotten a proper glow-up, and it’s looking a lot less like a pasar malam and a lot more like a youth hangout spot.
The Bugis Street Level 2 revamp brings in a new weekend retail concept called Somewhere @ Bugis Street, along with 4 other homegrown brands setting up shop for the first time. Expect a candle-making bar, matcha, a popular stationery brand’s debut store, and a photo studio with rooms styled like a hawker centre. Here is everything worth checking out.
Table of Contents
Anchoring the whole revamp is Somewhere @ Bugis Street, a space by Fleawhere and Invade Co. that isn’t just a shop-and-leave space but invites you to come hang out for a few hours.
Alongside racks of pre-loved fashion and indie labels, there are creator spaces where you can watch small brands work, plus a rotating lineup of creative workshops.
Every weekend from 1pm to 7pm, the space turns into a proper market with around 40 local vendors setting up booths. Beyond the usual browsing, there are free workshops too, including DIY upcycled fabric stickers and customising your own keyboard clicker, so it is worth swinging by even if you are not planning to buy anything.
For those who like to make a day of it, there is also an arcade machine to mess around with, a DJ spinning booth if you have ever wanted to try your hand at mixing, and a podcast corner kitted out with a full livestream setup. Basically, it is part market, part creative studio, part hangout spot.
Somewhere @ Bugis Street
Location: Bugis Street, Level 2
Opening hours: Sat & Sun 1pm-7pm
No, the weekend market is free to enter, and several of the workshops, like the DIY upcycled fabric sticker and keyboard clicker customisation, are free as well.
Homegrown label Ruby Merlot is known online for its leather journals and bags, and this marks the brand’s first time setting up a physical store. Fans of the label will get to browse the full lineup in person, from structured bags to the brand’s signature leather journals, instead of squinting at product photos online.
Bags we spotted include The Classic Ruby Bag – Large ($90), Rodeo Bag ($149), and Frankie Bag ($219). Journals range from about $99-$169 depending on the size and material. Plus, customise your journal by adding cute dangly charms ($13-$20).
The store also houses a dedicated corner called Ruby’s Girl Lair, a journaling studio where visitors can sit down and actually use the products, not just admire them on a shelf. Expect hands-on journaling sessions here, on top of the retail space.

If you have been on TikTok in the last year, chances are you have seen Creamie Sippies and its stone matcha mill imported straight from Japan. This Bugis Street outlet debuts the brand’s new Banana Pudding Bar, where you get to customise your own bowl with different toppings and sauces.
The original banana pudding starts at $4.50; a single scoop with Biscoff crumble as the default topping plus 2 toppings of your choice goes for $5.90; and a double scoop version is $6.90. For toppings to add to your treat, you’ve got the choice of Oreo crumble, Kit Kat crumble, rainbow sprinkles, marshmallow, and more.
For something to sip on, the brand’s matcha lattes typically start from $5, with signature drinks like the Strawberry Matcha Latte priced at $8.90, so expect similar pricing here. The brand has mentioned that they are not fully ready yet but are aiming to officially open in August. Keep a lookout on their Instagram channel @creamie.sippies for more information.

For a more hands-on souvenir, head to White Pixies, which bills itself as Singapore’s first dedicated Candle Bar. Here, you can decorate your own candle, diffuser, or perfume balm instead of just buying one off a shelf.
Here is a quick rundown of the workshop and product prices:
| Item | Price |
| Candle DIY Bar (tealight base) | $12.90 |
| Candle DIY Bar (glass jar base) | $19.90 |
| Diffuser DIY Bar | $12.90 |
| Perfume balm | $12.90 |
| Reed diffuser | $27.90 |
| Room spray | $15.90 |
| Ceramic candle | $15.90 |
| Hand sanitiser | $14.90 |
The tealight option is a nice low-commitment way to try candle-making without spending too much, while the glass jar version makes for a better gift if you are shopping for someone.
As for the diffusers, there are 3 scents to pick from, including Ritz Carlton and Shangri-La. Trust us, the fragrances are pretty spot on and will mentally transport you to a staycay spot.

Everyone’s favourite Standard Photo Studio has set up shop here too, bringing its 4 themed self-shoot rooms along with it.
This isn’t exactly new, but if you haven’t been, here’s what to expect: a hawker centre room complete with kopitiam-style props, an arcade booth for the retro gaming crowd, and a heart spotlight room for the couples and best-friend duos who want something a little more romantic.
Beyond the photos, there is also a DIY keychain station ($10 for 2) where you can turn your shots into wearable keepsakes, decorating them with beads however you like.

Bugis Street sits right above Bugis MRT station, so it is about as convenient as it gets. Just follow the signs from the station exit and head up to Level 2 to find the new stores.
Bugis Street has always been a reliable spot for a quick bargain hunt, but this revamp gives it a reason to be a proper hangout again. Between candle-making at White Pixies, journaling at Ruby’s Girl Lair, and the weekend market at Somewhere @ Bugis Street, there is enough here to fill up a whole afternoon, whether you are going solo or dragging your friends along.
